Excellent facilities, toilets and showers one the cleanest up to date we have had the pleasure to stay at,

We stayed for 2nights in the adult only pitch with like minded people

Short walk to the Village of Greetham

With on site secure dog walk

The Plough pub also recommended

Ideal for quiet weekends

Site located on the edge of the village of Greetham, and with a handy footpath access to the village where are located 2 excellent pubs serving food (The Plough - excellent trad pub grub / The Wheatsheaf - more gastro offering (not cheap)). Unfortunately the village shop is no longer open.

On the road to Oakham (6-miles, a must visit) there is a large Co-op for all needs. A little beyond Oakham is Gates garden centre (massive) and farm shop, with other outlets (e. G. Lakeland, Mountain Warehouse). Rutland Water also well worth a visit.

Back to the site - all fully-serviced pitches (grass and hard - good sized) and separated between family and adult-only sections. All very pleasant and well maintained, compact and easy access to all facilities.

Wooded dog walks are adjacent to 2-sides of the site. Site also benefits from an indoor swimming pool (private hire), a café with extensive menu, including excellent pizzas, and a small shop at reception.

All staff extremely friendly and helpful.

A lovely site for visiting the area. We found the shower block on the adults only section to be very clean with plenty of hot water.

We walked into the village and visited the Plough Inn. The shop and Post Office are now closed. We went to Cottesmore for Fish and Chips and these were excellent value with huge portions.

My only negative comments are that it’s £16 for 1/2 hour private use of the swimming pool, fine if you are a family but expensive if there’s just the one of you. Also, there are only two sinks for dishwashing on the adults only section, not enough and not much space to put anything.

Stamford and Oakham are well worth visiting and there’s a lovely garden centre (Gates) near Oakham.

Loved the adult only camping. Very peaceful setting. Toilet and shower facilities second to none 😀👍

Loved the church bell ringing every hour, even if they were wrong every hour 😂😂 but who cares in such a tranquil setting.

Strongly recommend The Rutland Kitchen on site, great choice of food.

Good dog walking on site 🐶🐶

Booked 4nights for may bank holiday, booked over the phone, easy process with efficient staff,

12 00 check in arrived at 12 paid balance on arrival and directed to our fully serviced hardstanding adults area pitch,

Pitch 12 level gravel pitch plenty of room for mh, trailer and car still leaving plenty of room for table and chairs.

£10 deposit for barrier & gate card.

Clean facilities good bin and elsan point, good cafe/ take away on site, great pizzas!

Pleasant woodland walk to the pub less than 10 mins. Glad we took the car not much locally but we already knew that.

Overall good site, long ehu needed, church bell goes every hour but you soon don’t notice it

Not bad BUT the entrance and roads ways at this site need seriously looking at if you hit one of the many pot holes you may need your shocks looking at!

The site seem as thro it would benefit from a upgrade. Taps dripping, showers that wouldn't turn off fully, no where to put your shampoo/ shower gel, needs some shower racking putting in instead of using the floor!

Site:- Clean, Tidy, Flat, Average Costs.

Washing area Clean. Plenty of good sized shower Cubicles. There was always one free. Hand washing basins not separated. Family Bathroom. I. E. A real bath, not a shower.

4 Washing up sinks again no queuing

Recycling and chemical point available. Also kept clean. Swimming pool hire at extra cost.

Pitch size average. FULLY serviced (Water and grey waste)

Play area for young Children

Wardens polite.

Up to this point 10 out of 10.

Would not recommend home cooked Cafe food. Cooked Breakfast was very dry.

No cycle, scooters etc allowed on site.

We were late back one night we explained to the receptionist on arrival that this would happen We asked if it would be Ok to park in the carpark outside the entrance to the park. We were told we couldn't because the security gate would be locked but we could get in via a footpath at the back of the site if we left the car on the the road into the village.

At 11pm on a Saturday night we found out that this path is not suitable for disability walkers and that you need to have your pass card to get in through the solid metal gate which does have a notice on it to say it is the way in but is very weathered and not easy to read. I imagine in wet weather the path is very muddy.

Pitching your tent MUST be on the Right of the pitch with car on the Left as you face the pitch. Not very friendly when camping with another couple when there is a car between you all the time. No communal area between you of any size.

The site was not busy even though it was August and very warm. We asked if we could leave the trailer in the car park for the afternoon on the day we checked out. Request refused.

My impression was that there were rules and regardless of circumstances there would be no deviation. So even though the campsite is well maintained I would not consider staying here again unless there was no alternative. I did not come away feeling good about this site.

Look out for Firework Competitions in the area during August. Drone show and 4 X 10 minuet firework displays to music. Fantastic. Take your chairs and picnic. Some people even had a portable BBQ. BUT remember you will have to walk along the footpath at the back of the site to get back to your tent!

A large busy site noisy at times but it was the Bank Holiday weekend and school holidays. We originally booked an adults only hard standing pitch but asked to move due to the noise from dogs barking and the busy road.

We were moved without any problem onto a grass pitch further down the site. Unfortunately someone felt the need to play their music loudly until 10. 45pm one evening. Site requests that noise is kept to a minimum after 11pm.

Very popular for owners of dogs, which we have, but the dog walk was smaller than we had imagined. The shower block is lovely, clean and warm and the site is reasonably well maintained. Staff were approachable.

We did not use the cafe on site but the menu looked good.

The village is an easy walk from the site and the Plough is a nice pub but overall little else in the village.

We left the site early. Overall overpriced and not for us.
