Just got one of these from Obelink in nl, it's called a Hypercamp Tripstein Super. I put it up on my own with no bother. You peg out the attached groundsheet first and this provides enough tension for the poles to stay up while you bang in the guy ropes. My little boy announced 'Daddy I need a poo poo' during this process. I attended to that and when done, the poles were all still up without the guy ropes!

The tent is huge and I can stand up in it comfortably (I am 6ft 2). We don't have any inner bedrooms and don't see the need but the tent is a little cold, I think because it is so big. But no problem really, there is lots of space for spare blankets.

The fabric is very thick and so is the groundsheet. Windows and Doors great. Nice hooks welded onto each pole, great for hanging things up there, especially a lantern.

I also brought a massive wing awning from Obelink and do struggle a bit with arranging this to create a dry porch area, though can rig something more or less. The problem is that the tent doorway has 2 poles and the distance between them is less than the distance between the holes on the awning. I think I need to have another think about it. I notice Obelink does a longer pole, which might help. Either way, with a huge awning, it's nice to have somewhere to eat out of the rain!

When my kids were racing around the tent they kept swinging around the centre pole. They managed to pull it down twice! I was surprised this was possible. No big problem but if there had been candle lanterns up there it would not have been great!

Instead of buying an inner, it would be possible to pitch another little tent inside it!

The tent weighs a LOT. It would be a bit of a pain trying to pack it away wet and dry it out at home.

It was a bit disappointing to see how hard it is to get it back into the bag. I think for a tent of this weight, having an oversize bag and some compression straps would be easier than trying to shake it into the bag.

Overall though I love it. I am though tempted to have a look at the Eldorado, which is a bit smaller and looks great!

I do wonder what you do in a tent like this when you're in a lightening storm, it has 9 upright metal poles! (4 small ones at the corners!)

Oh I should say I like the neat feature by the door. You can fold down the doorway flat to avoid tripping, but in the event of big rain there is a good way to fold that back up and give yourself a bomber bathtub style sewn in.

I recently bought the standard Touareg and camped for 10 days on the coast in South Devon. We had 2 severe storms and I'm happy to say not a drop of water came in and the tent remained upright! I do spend few minutes each day checking guy ropes! I love my tent.The colour, space, the windows.Everything!

We bought this tent for short trips and to extend the season as it would be easier to heat than the bell tent. It's a lovely shape, it reminds me of a circus big top tent, but much smaller! The two doors and four mesh windows make it airy, if it ever gets hot and sunny, the canvas is a lovely colour, which means that even with the windows and doors closed it doesn't feel dark, oppressive or claustrophobic. The sewn in bath tub groundsheet ensures a dry stay and the fold flat entrances also allow for and EHU cable to be threaded in easily, you then fasten the little hook and zip up the door.

It easily takes us two adults, two small dogs with camp beds, dog beds and comfy chairs (a large moon chair and deck chair) with other camping comforts. It would sleep more people but with less gear.

Because its 'open plan' the layout is very flexible, although the sloping roof and short side walls mean no big cupboards at the ends, the flat fronts do give higher storage space, cooking space if you wanted, and easy access.

Pitching is a doddle! I can pitch it solo, it takes two people 10 minutes, max then you are in.

It's quick to warm up with a fan heater, and is lush with carpets, rugs and throws. Made for glamping up, although not compulsory if it's not your thing. As Val said, it doesn't have plastic windows, just mesh with a zipped canvas outer cover, which only zips down one side, not along the bottom, ensuring some ventilation whether you want it or not, useful with gas or other fuel lighting I imagine. However, the windows are not draughty when the canvas is closed.

A lovely canvas tent, looking forward to using it on hot sunny days.

Very light and airy tent. Simple to pitch (very much like a standard bell tent, but with 2 door frames)

Door at either end (the tent is totally symetrical) makes it invaluable as an annex with a motorhome/camper

The size is probably smaller than I anticipated, but would take 2 double airbeds down each side (sleeping 8 with nothing else in there). On the plus side it was easy to heat in March, and less canvas for drying than the bells

The SIG also helps with the easy pitching, altho it is also available with a separate groundsheet

The 4 corner poles that are supplied to hold the shape on the low wall aren't really needed, as it supported fine without them (and a couple dropped down anyway)

No excessive guy lines as with most pyramid tents

The other advantage over the bells is the 2 flat walls - you could set up a cooking area inside (obviously take precautions cooking inside before someone sues me)

Only downside I would say for winter camping the windows can't be opened up/unzipped, as there is only mesh behind them

Firstly, whilst making this review the form would not allow me to state that this tent has no bedroom inners. It is a wonderful open plan communal space and that is one of the things that I enjoy about this tent. It does have the fittings for the inclusion of 'bedroom pods' and Belltent.Uk state that they will be manufactured in the future. We bought it because we wanted a tent that was easy for one person to erect (and it really is), but big enough for a family trip with possible rain.

We love it - It is a pleasure to put up, the windows let in so much light and air, the simple rectangular shape makes it a very efficient space, it is easy to walk around inside and it looks beautiful! We have had two trips that have included rain but there has been no leakage. It sleeps three easily with storage space for everything else that has been brought in from the rain. I would not like to have more than four sleeping in this tent.

My only criticism is the fussy meeting of zips around the doorway which makes it impossible to achieve a perfect seal against draft or bugs. This is caused by the bathtub groundsheet having zips at the doorways allowing it to be opened out to form a flat threshold.

By the way striped Blue Diamond windbreaks match the fabric of this tent perfectly.
