3 Reviews of the Primavera 4

I found this tent great value as it is a very roomy tent for a 4 man most 4 men tents can be cramp also I have used this tent in harsh conditions in scotland and has never let me down in heavy rain all night and high winds ,i also find this tent so nice to sit in with all the windows and the front window is a bonus . This tent is so easy to erect and pitch only takes 20 min and the same to take down and always fits in the sturdy canvas bag it comes with , the tent looks great . We use this tent for long trips away as its very large and we use it for 1 night stays because it goes up just as easy as most 2 man tents . I love this tent and I highly recommend this tent .

First used Easter 2012. Purchased for £64 in a Millets closing down sale. Fantastic value for money. Used for 3 nights in very wet Cumbrian conditions. No problems, quality is more than adequate. Having read previous reviewers comments I sewed extra velcro across bottom of front flap, which helped greatly. I also made up poles to create a canopy with the front flap, which helped reduce condensation. I would buy this tent again - it has appeared again on the Millets website (April 12) as a 'new edition' for £250. I reckon I would pay up to £150 for it. Impressed by the steel side poles, which provide excellent stability, and pretty much prevent the likelihood of split glass fibre poles (which I have had on multiple tents in the past). Front door has no mesh, both side doors do. Ventilation is adequate, and tent is light and airy with a vent to the rear behind the bedrooms. Generally very pleased.

We managed to buy this tent recently for the bargain price of £84. We were looking for a quick, easy to pitch weekend tent and the Primavera 4 ticked all the boxes. If you begin by loosely pegging out the four corners of the SIG, by the time you've installed the two central poles the tent is pretty much standing up on its own which makes the insertion of the remaining poles and guying/pegging out much easier. I can't see a problem with someone trying to pitch this tent on their own, as with two people it was an absolute breeze.
Two single airbeds will fit exactly into one of the sleeping pods, which enabled us to remove the second pod and use the newly acquired space as a kitchen and storage area instead. The designated living area is large, bright and airy and if the weather took a turn for the worse you certainly wouldn't feel hemmed in due to the abundance of windows. The two side doors both have the option to be meshed, however the front door doesn't which means that the bottom of the front door cannot be zipped shut and has to rely on two small pieces of velcro instead. This is the only reason that I've knocked the rating down from a score of full marks to 9 out of 10. We are planning to add a little extra velcro of our own in order to create a more secure fit. It's a cheap easy fix that anyone can do, so don't let the prospect of having to do it yourself put you off.
The tent comes with a full SIG which continues under both sleeping pods, so either can easily be removed if, like us, it's a little extra living space you're after. A central hanging lantern point is provided plus velcro'd cable ties which run down to a cable entry point at the base of one of the side doors.
Although an official footprint isn't available for the Primavera 4, it's not difficult to track one down that would fit. Personally we use one designed for a Vango Tigris 400DLX. The width is perfect, however we do have to fold it over slightly lengthwise as it's just a little bit too long, but for £14 we're not going to complain!
All in all this is a little gem of a tent. Yes the standard of construction isn't going to rate up there with some of the big names in the camping industry, but if you're looking for a sturdy, easy to pitch, bright and roomy four person tent that will actually sleep four people and comes at a bargain price then you'd be hard pressed to find something that will out shine the Primavera 4.
