I bought this tent as an upgrade from the Gelert Horizon 8, massively swayed by the reviews on here and I can honestly say its a great tent!

Last June we have camped in Devon in terrible weather.Which included myself and my 9 year erecting the tent in pouring rain! It is easier to put up with two adults but never the less we managed it. This tent really has stood up to everything thrown at it - a good 4 days of constant rain and gale force winds (that some caravan awnings couldn't cope with!), and it coped just fine, regular guy line runners are always a bit fiddly to adjust in the rain so this year I'm going to change them for Clamcleats glow in the dark Line-Loks (I'm forever tripping over the guys!). In August we took it to France for some sun and the blackout pods did their job, my friends kids didn't wake most mornings till a good 08:30-09:00 which as you know on a campsite is a lie in! The daylight panel is good and does help to get the tent warm and likewise cool in really hot weather. The bedroom set up is versatile and the storage part is great - which gets converted to the loo depending on how many guests we have, when the weather turns there's enough space for everybody to be comfortable. The built in porch we use for the kitchen, we have the canopy too which is great for sheltering from the wind and rain but still feeling like you're outdoors, the only thing I would say is that without the canopy on the porch there would be some dripping as you open the porch door if it's rained in the night - not a problem though if you have the canopy. We get a lot of compliments on the tent but do have to be careful about what size pitch we have - and thank goodness for the groundsheet for positioning, and it takes a fair bit of luggage room up! All in all - good tent that will service us well for a good few years I hope.

This tent is fantastic. It is so spacious, having a storage room with drying rail is lovely and keeps the main living area clear for eating at a table or playing games etc. The tent was actually fairly easy to put up with two, although the first cross over poles in the middle were so heavy I couldn't have done it alone and the height of the inner pods means if you are shorter than 5ft 5 you will need something to stand on! It didn't rain once and we have only taken it out once so I cannot comment on the weather proofing and it wasn't particularly windy either, but it felt very solid and sturdy so I don't really have any worries about that. Worth every penny (although we did get it reduced and it came with the carpet which was lovely to have!) I ought to mention it does take up a lot of room in the boot as the poles are in a bag of their own which is as big as most 5 man tents in itself! We have a Picasso and with careful planning fitted everything in but beware, although the tent fits back into the bag well, it does have a different shape once it is packed after use and will affect the boot space on your return!

This is a huge, comfortable tent, referred to by my family as the 'mothertent'. (It is as big as a spaceship). It is supposed to sleep ten but is actually ideal for a family of five plus dog, (she even gets her own room). It is easier to put up than our old huge tent (the Suncamp Oasis 700). The only criticism I have of it is that it isn't as warm as the old tent as it is single skinned in the living area. I realise the newer 2011 version has a roof liner but I wonder if that is helpful as it doesn't line the outer walls. We recently had a very wet holiday in Wales in this tent and though it had some condensation inside it didn't let in the rain and was large enough for us to sit in and watch a DVD and play games in comfort.

Well, managed to convince the wife to invest in good kit! We have 4 children (2,4,10 and 13)and although I am an outdoor person, nobody else was-until now! We have just had 4 days in the Tenby 10. Fantastic tent. Easy to put up, lots of space, super quality, easy to put down, just about managed to get it in the bag. What more can you say. We actually had one of our friends too, so that was 5 children and 2 adults. The extra area was used as the 'loo' (Kampa Kazzi-excellent!). Only issue we had was some ballooning of the groundsheet in high winds-not sure how to cope with that (any help appreciated?). We also bought the footprint and carpet (which seemed a bit small?). Next purchase will be the canopy.

Super tent, super quality and even the Mrs wants to go 'glamping' again next week!

Would recommend wholeheartedly.

Recently purchased this tent as a replacement for our Kalahari 10 with porch, thought it would be difficult to find a tent to replace it, but then I stumbled across the Tenby 10 and what a beauty!

I was worried about pitching it as I could practically do the kal 10 single handed, but this is easier - I can do it single handed as DH is disabled. Once you get the centre poles in it's plain sailing after that!

We also bought the ground sheet, canopy and carpet. The Ground sheet is great for laying out on the pitch as it also covers the porch area. The canopy is a brilliant extension, wish there were instructions and upon emailing kampa about this was told no-one else had ever requested them, but 2nd time round it went up like a dream and was a great area for the kids to eat in if its a bit blowy or raining. The carpet was a let down, upon returning it twice we have now used the Gelert corvus 6 + 2 fleece carpet instead, it was we felt a bit to small for the tent, 1st one had faults running all through it and they both frayed at the centre seam and due to the woven material it had pulls though out every time the kids even ran a toy car over it! (I didn't take this into account when rating the tent as it is an optional extra and not fair to rate it against someone not choosing to purchase the carpet).

The sleeptight system is brilliant - hats off to the person who thought of blackout pods! also kept the tent cool during the heat this summer, the central daylight panel is wonderful and a small price to pay to have to hook the curtain up and down morning and evening's, the whole tent is very well thought out.

We did have a leak over the toilet area and but the tent has been replaced immediately, so no complaints there either.

All-round a great large tent, referred to as - the bungalow - by camping friends!

Am delighted to say that I bought the Kampa Tenby 10 tent, carpet, underground sheet and canopy. I spent hours going over reviews trying to decide which tent to buy and finally settled on the Kampa Tenby 10. I wasn't let down when I received it and went camping for the first time. We are a family of 2 adults and 3 children (ages 7, 9 and 11). We all have our own bedrooms and a spare room which we use as a dressing room! We use the porch area as a kitchen area. The canopy is great as we used this to sit outside in the evenings. I love this tent - it is very secure, huge living space and very well designed. Only one thing that I found disappointing was with the canopy - it didn't come with any instructions and we had to figure out ourselves how it should be attached to the tent. It was raining when we camped and there was no leaks. We packed it back into it's bag when leaving but am unsure how easy this would be if it was wet.

Considering the times we are in and everyone looking for more for their money - having this tent has opened the prospect of going on very comfortable holidays with a minimum of budgets. Highly recommended.

What a tent this is a mobile mansion its huge and the space is used very well. Tt also has the best build quality I have ever seen in a tent, every bit of it fits together as it should. It is a perfect family tent really good that it has a toilet in it, its no fun up and down to site toilets with kids during the night. The tent is not as hard to put up as you might think, if you have put a big tent up before you will manage fine but it is a two person job. There are other big tents but I find they waste a lot of space and have small bedrooms - not this tent the lay out is very good. Sadly due to a horrid comp virus a lost my pics of this tent (I copy them to memory stick now). If you want a big tent get one of these

Just been out for the first time in our tenby 10 and I can honestly say we were amazed at how much space we had.

We bought this tent after reading the reviews placed on this website. We had however never seen one up.

We are 2 adults, 2 teens and a 6 year old. We had ample space to live in and now cannot wait for our holiday in august to Cornwall.

If you need a big tent then this is the one to buy. I cannot fault it!

We bought a Kampa tenby 10 after reading reviews on this website and I must say we were very impressed. We are a family of 2 adults 3 children and they was so much space. We have had a few large tents and this must be the biggest and most easiest to put up and take down. The only bad thing I can say about this tent is the poles are very heavy and the springs on a few of the poles snapped. It is very well designed and thought out. We camped recently for a fortnight and we had more than enough space for everything. We were constantly told by other campers how much they admired this tent and even showed a few people around. Highly recommended!

I would concur with everything Gunnar has said about the Tenby 10. We have just returned form our second outing in it and as experienced campers we are very pleased and impressed.

We spent some time looking at all the large tents we could and the Kampa tenby 10 seemed to have the largest area (in terms of m2) but also a great layout. The bedrooms being on either side of the tent with a large squarish living space in the middle works really well. There is a wardrobe/toilet/general storage area on one side as well which meant the living area remained free of clutter. The headroom is great, (you do need to have someone reasonably tall to put the inner tents up). The light blue fabric lets plenty of light in to the living area but the Sleep Tite system does keep the inners reasonably dim during day. The carpet does add a real touch of comfort.

With thanks to Gunnar as well I agree the Frinton 4 vestibule worked a dream (and we did have some rain!)-one small draw back of the Tenby 10 alone is the sloping front door which would make the porch area wet in rain-however with the Frinton 4 vestibule we could leave the front door open and just use the inner front door at night-the porch area then becomes a great kitchen area.

One small mistake we made was not to peg the tent out completely over the edge of the foot print-with the result that water then got between the foot print and the underside of the tent groundsheet.

Being polyester it can get warm inside but with front and back doors open this created enough movement of air to keep us comfortable-we are off to France shortly so will see how this works in more prolonged sun (hopefully!)

The price seemed to be the same (£599) wherever I looked. Overall really pleased.

Manufacturer's Description

Our largest tent yet. Its exterior dimensions are utilised to maximum advantage to give a massive interior space without wasted space. For a tent of its size, the Tenby 10 is relatively easy to set up with clearly colour coded parts. Once erected, the structure is very stable with plenty of supporting poles and pegging points. A large front canopy protects the entrance to the tent - an ideal place to kick off your shoes - and this leads directly into the cathedral like living area! This space can also be accessed through the rear door and on hot days both doors can be opened to provide a draught through the tent. The bedrooms are either side of the living area and in contrast to the brightly lit living area, the SleepTite System keeps their interiors nicely subdued – ideal for an afternoon nap. Up to ten people can sleep comfortably or it is possible to either leave out individual inner tents or set down and stow others depending upon your needs. There is also an area set aside for storage (it has a wardrobe bar for hanging clothes) or perhaps as a toilet area. Of course, the Tenby comes with a Sealed Groundsheet System to make sure that the weather and creepy crawlies stay outside.
