5 Reviews of the Wichenford 2.0
By: Kozzy76 Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2014 Rating:
As a first time camper I wanted a tent that would be good size for 2 Adults, 2 Teens & 2 younglings! It was also to last for many years . I found the Wichenford 2.0 - so I purchased it along with porch, footprint, carpet £500! We arrived on our First trip and up it all went - easy peasy in less than an hour with NO mishaps! Day 2 it began to rain . Day 3 the wind ripped the rope on porch - we tied it on then it started to leak in front door . Day 4 other side of porch ripped - Tied that too! That night the porch completely took off like a kite! The Tent itself leaked like a colander - The carpet was soggy! The zips kept catching but nothing caught in it! The groundsheet was too high on the doors I tripped a few times! It was the worst experience ever - I have ditched this tent & look forward to better camping in future!

NOTE: This review relates to the 2014 Wichenford 8, the predecessor to the updated Winchenford 2.0
We recently purchased the Olpro Wichenford tent after reading rave reviews, including being on the Independent's top ten family tents. Our first ever family trip was a disaster. The tent was fairly easy to put up as the reviews suggested. But as we erected the tent, two poles cracked, not a great start. We fortunately had some tape to hold them together. The tent is well designed with spacious living and sleeping areas that are flexible in configuration. Poles aside we were pleased and excited about our camping trip. Unfortunately the rain started during the first night and we woke up to leaks all over the living area, our tent carpet was sodden. On further investigation, most of the seams were leaking. Water also seemed to get in at the bottom of the doorways onto the groundsheet. By capturing drips in various pots and bowls we managed to survive a second night but after that everything was still too damp and the seams above the sleeping areas were starting to leak so we packed up early and went home.
It now remains to be seen how Olpro respond. I contacted them on our way home and was not impressed at the initial response. Their approach is to collect and inspect the tent before they will confirm what they will do. They were not particularly apologetic and stressed that they would only act IF they deem it to be a manufacturing fault. I remain doubtful we'll be compensated for our camping fees for the nights we lost, or the other accessories we purchased to go with the tent such as the carpet and groundsheet.
We'll see, hopefully my initial experience of their customer service was an anomaly and they will do the right thing.

Stayed in one of these tents at The Drum & Monkey Pub in Worcestershire where they were offering free camping accommodation for us revellers over Christmas. The weather was horrendous outside but we stayed snug and dry inside. Think I will get my wallet out and upgrade from my old SunnCamp to one of these this year.

Fantastic Tent
We've just used for the first time, last weekend. It was in the pouring rain but what a fantastic and spacious tent. We also used with the Witley Windbreak which I would recommend too. Bought one. Put it up. 1 tent pole was cracked. Bedrooms don't fit properly. You have to be a giant to get in the bedrooms as the bottoms are knee height to a 5ft 11 man! Sewing around groundsheet at door entrance has caused holes in groundsheet. Buttons sewn in where loops should be so organisers can't hang properly. Really disappointed with this tent. Good job I put it up in garden before using it. Had to buy a second hand Outwell nebraska instead! I wouldn't recommend this tent at all to anyone. Poor quality.
