4 Reviews of the Triumph 400
By: Bob + Fiona Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2010 Rating:
I've just bought this tent as a weekender. For a family of four it is a comfortable size with storage and living areas.
It was very easy to put up but takes a while to peg out. It needs a total of 48 pegs! Mind you, we had some windy weather and it didn't move much.
The canopy above the door is ideal to stop the rain coming in and the other door has a mesh screen so you can ventilate the tent really well. In addition to this, the bedrooms can also be vented from the back.
The bedrooms are a standard double size with plenty of headroom. The storage area is accessed through the left hand bedroom. We thought this would be ideal for the toilet although opening the vented window during the day is recommended! It was a bit of a pain in the middle of the night when one of the kids needed the loo as they had to unzip their bedroom, unzip our bedroom, climb all over me to unzip the en-suite and then vice versa to go back to bed which woke the other one up and here we go again! But it is a decent size for storing clothes etc.
Just an additional note, we have a Coleman Classic Awning which fitted on the front really well.

After looking at many tents over quite a few weeks, we had an idea what we were after. We wanted good quality, fully sewn in groundsheet and standing room. We could have bought a bigger tent with the money we paid (£299) but thought maybe a bigger tent wouldn't have been as sturdy. We didn't have time at home, to practice putting it up before we went camping, but had no problems. The first night it chucked it down, and we had a thunderstorm but we had no leaks. The space is great, plenty of living room, sleeping room and the en-suite area is great for storage. I like that the sleeping areas are separate, if my husband and I use it without the children, we don't need to put both sleeping areas up, it will give us more space and there's an extra window, that can be used with the area up or not. We think it's a great tent. We would definitely recommend it!

We bought ours last year to replace our Outwell Hartford XL, as its just me and the missus now. A fantastic tent, easy to erect, large and comfortable. The windows are great, ventilation is good, the sleeping compartments are large, you can stand up easily. Would highly recommend this tent to anyone.

A fantastic tent ,plenty of living area ,and easy to put up ,can do it on my own ,but two people is better ,the built on canopy is a great idea ,keeps the rain out when your coming and going ,loads of pegging to do ! but is very strong ,nice big windows too ,and the en suite well you can use a toilet in there as it is big enough ,but we use it for storage ,keeps the tent nice and tidy .We have just sold our gelert vario 5 ,as we bought the triumph 400 to take its place ,and I must admit this has been the best buy I have done on tents ,would I recommend ! a big yes I would
