We paid Ł699 from outdoor megastores. We've never seen it up before, but when we finally managed to erect it, we were very happy with our purchase! We rang around the places that people have advised us on here, where they found this tent, with all the extras for less than we eventually paid, but the deal had either ended, or they didn't stock them anymore, or they'd never even heared of the deal! ( me thinks that they may have been fobbing me off!)

We did a lot of research on this tent before we purchased it, and found that there was only great reviews to read! We viewed the bear lake 6 a few weeks ago, but found that with having 2 boys (10 and 6), the bedrooms were just too small, as I'm not sure that there would be enough wrestling room in them!

The bedroom and living space that the wolf lake has, is priceless! I was a little worried that Ł700 on a tent was a little extravagant and expensive, but after seeing it up, it's got to be well worth it's money! My only downside, is that I hurt my back a couple of weeks ago, and found it really difficult to help the hubby lift the tent bags out of the car! (It's definitely man's work!)

We haven't bought the extension yet, and I'm not sure that we need it (yet!), that maybe something that we will consider in the future. After having the vango diablo 600 xp, this tent is pure luxury compared to that one! It's cooler inside, a little darker, which will work to our advantage of an evening. It's not as dark as some people have made out, as it's got plenty of windows to keep it as light as you wish!

Overall, it's definitely well worth it's money, and I would advice anyone to get one. We have been advised by many people that the price of material is going up in the next few months, and what with the price of fuel and energy, rocketing sky high, the price of tents are going up next year. We have even been told that this tent may even reach it's rrp for next year. (around Ł1100/Ł1200) I believe. If this is the case, I am very pleased that we purchased the tent when we did.

One point has been marked off, for the sheer weight of the tent and for the instructions not being as clear as possible for someone who's never put anything quite that size up before! Otherwise, fantastic buy!

I loved my Bear Lake 6 and I think the Wolf Lake 7 matches the functionality and quality of the BL6 in every way.

I'm 6ft 7in tall and the extra height in the WL7 is great as it means far more usable space for me. It does mean a slightly tougher job getting the tent into an upright position with the first pole when you think of the 30kg of poles and 30 kg of material that is being pulled into position. Time wise it takes no extra time over the BL6 to put up or take down. The only slight sticking area s the side tensioning poles which slide through a mesh channel and frequently get caught up on the little push button tabs that secure the poles together. A little forward thinking and you can minimise this by ensuring the tabs are all facing in towards the seem or others say putting some electrical tape around them.

The tent is really robustly made. The polycotton means the tent is warmer in cold weather and cooler in hot weather. Its rock solid in stong winds and much quieter inside.

So why the 8 out of 10 stars well for me its the fact that this tent weighs a lot and takes up a lot of space in the car.

So far the only problems I have had is the door is slightly stiff although after some minor adjustments much better than the BL6 I had. Also I managed to snap one pole which was bent out of shape for some reason this is being replaced by outwell free of charge as good will gesture.

The carpet that we got for the WL7 is incorrectly manufactured so that the cuts for the bedroom anchor points are in the wrong place. Apparently this is a fault with all 2008 WL7 carpets and wont be remedied until next year.

We are a family of 4 (soon to be 5) and for us the WL7 is the ideal tent for our needs as it gives great space and flexibility to suit all our needs. For a couple of day getaway I probably wont be using the Wolf Lake as it is just that too much of a chore (approx 60 mins) to put up and take down. So I already purchased a quick erect tent to give me extra flexibility.
