7 Reviews of the Luxury Family Tent

I wanted to try camping but didn't want to spend a load of money just in case my family and I didn't enjoy the camping experience. The tent came with two blow up beds, two torches and four sleeping bags. We baught a little hob and cooking gear separately.

The tent was easy to assemble even for a complete novice like myself. It doesn't have a sown in groundsheet but the two sleeping pods are completely enclosed offering a snug sleeping area (though maybe too snug for two adults). I'm just under six foot tall and didn't have to duck inside the living area of the tent. I also thought the living area was quite roomy for two adults and one child.

We've enjoyed our camping days and have upgraded to a larger tent for longer, family holidays but I still use this tent when it's just my son & I doing stuff over the weekends. Would recommend this tent to anyone new to camping who wants to try it without spending a fortune.

Bought this tent as we were trying camping for the first time. We were a family of four (2 adults, 2 children) this tent was a great starter tent for a 6 night stay in Cornwall (July 2011). It stood up to the wind and rain. A couple of negatives, no sewn in groundsheet, which let in all the creepy crawlies. A double airbed only just fit in the bedroom compartments. If your camping as a family this tent isn't suitable as it lacks any real indoor space, so cramped with all your luxury camping gear. However cannot fault this tent in terms of quality, although we did upgrade as soon as we returned to a 10 berth kalahari 10 tent.

Hi I bought one of these tents as we are new to camping and didn't want to spend a lot of money on something that we'd only use once(we've used it four times now) if we didn't like like it.

The tent is easy to put even for complete novices like me about 20 mins.

The only problem we've had is that the ground sheet is separate so the rain and wind can blow in and the dogs can escape through the gap and if you are tall like me you can't stand up fully in side making it a bit cramped.

But on the whole not bad for a starter and an odd weekend away!

I wasn't sure if this tent was too cheap to be any good, but after reading some reviews went ahead and bought it for £119 including air beds, sleeping bags, foot pump, camping lights and cook set and stove in bag. It was easy to put up, and pack away, thanks to the carry bag on wheels. The tent is high enough for an adult to stand upright in the centre and you have the option of erecting a 'porch' at the side. There are a couple of storage pockets in each bedroom which are useful. I agree with previous comments about the lack of a built in groundsheet, but we've used the one in the pack along with waterproof backed picnic blanket to good effect. I also agree that the sleeping bags will not keep you warm unless there is a heatwave! That said this pack is still excellent value.

We've used the tent now 4 times in rain and shine with no leaks but we haven't yet had to contend with severe weather. Overall the tent is fine for mini-breaks in fine -moderate weather, but I'd like something of a better quality if we planned a longer trip.

I love this tent. The sleeping space is at each end of the tent so your not worrying about others snoring. Put it up first time in 25 minutes second time in 20 and you can pack it all away back in the bag with ease. This is my first proper tent and so far I'm impressed. The only thing im not keen on it the ground sheet is not fitted so if you get a down pour you can end up needing a mop. The airbeds are great and the lights you get with it although small are more than good enough. Bargain

First time buyers of a tent and saw this tent for sale at a reduced price in Halfords. Very easy to put up, only took us 35 mins. Will enjoy going camping again with this tent. Would recommend taking duvets as the sleeping bags are not good enough to keep you warm at night. The Sleeping pods are a very good idea, although remember to open the section with the net as if you don't it can be very very warm first thing in the morning inside the pod.

As this was our first camping trip we borrowed a tent from a friend. This Halfords Luxury family tent had only been used twice before. The separate groundsheet was a problem as rain and wind blew through making it uncomfortable. On the 3rd day when pitching tent poles snapped and pieced the pole guiders and the bottom flap attachments came away from the material. In the end the tent was unusable and not fit for purpose. Although I can understand families wanting to purchase an all in one pack which includes sleeping bags, etc I think by doing so it detracts from the tent quality. In hindsight I would recommend purchasing a good quality tent separately. Buyers beware
