5 Reviews of the Yukon 400
By: Simiisme Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2007 Rating:
This tent has been great for our family of four.
One big advantage is that it's quick and easy to pitch. Just slide in the colour-coded poles and 'walk' it into shape. A real advantage if the weather's not great when you arrive at your site.
I like the sewn-in groundsheet. Two decent sized bedrooms. Plenty big enough for hubby, me and two boys (now aged 9 and 6).
It has stood up to storms and high winds, even when on a cliff-top site, and feels secure and cosy.
I see that this tent has been discontinued, but it would be worth buying second-hand if you see one advertised in good nick.
Recommended.

The Vango Yukon 400 is a good little starter tent. We have used it several times now. It pitches quickly without any problems. Stands up to rain and wind without any leaks. The side door is handy to use in bad weather rather than the front porch door as it is quicker and doesn't let as much wind / rain in.
The only downside is the front porch is zipped down in a diagonal line so some space is lost, and when the porch is up there is little protection from any wind or rain so you may need to zip up.
All in all a good tent, may look into buying a porch extension and it would be perfect.

We bought this tent at the end of last year but due to the bad weather we never got chance to use it. We have used it twice this year. We bought it for long weekends so we want something that was quick and easy to put up and this tent is (3 colour coded poles). There is plenty of space for the 2 of us, it feels sturdy and has stood up to quite strong winds. I think its very good value for the money paid and my only difficulty was packing it away in the bag!

We bought the Yukon 400 as a weekend tent for 2 adults and 1 child, although could fit an extra small child in but would be very cosy! We use a Vango Diablo 600 for our main holiday but wanted something smaller and quicker to erect for shortbreaks. Went to buy the Vango Tamor, but decided to spend a bit more and get the Yukon as it appeared to be far better quality and not flapping about in the wind as much! We have just spent 5 very windy and wet days in it and it stood up to the weather very well. Yes it flapped around in the high winds but because of the design of the tent this is inevitable. The spacious living area was big enough for the 3 of us to sit in comfortably when raining although the sloping front does mean you lose quite a bit of floor space, ok for storage boxes with supplies in. Well-made tent, only 3 colour-coded poles so simple to put up All in all a good little tent for the money and I would highly recommend it for a small family or couple.

Small tent we have it for weekend tent for 2 children 2 adults but mainly for me and kids when camping alone easy to put up I managed it with 10 year old took about 40 minutes first time they recommend 20 mins pitching.Front slopes so lose a bit of space due to this well made nice and bright due to plenty of windows does get quite hot. Bedroom area can fit two double blow up beds in it.Half mesh in bedroom doors and a divider in bedroom to make two rooms if nessesary, has two windows in roof which can be covered but could see the holes you attach the covers to either getting too big or tearing. When raining due to slant of side door when you go in or out does let a bit of rain in as no porch but have bought a small porch for 20 pound so hope this solves this.No leaks.Well made tent coulour coded poles stated porch poles sold seperately but it came with them fitted into bag easily great tent for small family couples
