7 Reviews of the Saturn 9
By: Madriggie Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2007 Rating:
I bought a preloved Saturn 9 from ebay, hoping it would suit me, my husband, 3 kids and our dog.
It does. I love this tent! Its very roomy, the kids sleep in one of the bed room sections, and we sleep on the other side of the tent, and we still have a spare space for storage.
I particularly love the the porch area, we set it up for cooking as its sheltered but not enclosed so keeps the wind off, plus its great for kicking shoes off.
There are loads of storage pockets, handy slots in the inner tent for the EHU, lamp hanging loop, and little velcro ties to hold the light wire in place should you need it!
Pitching was easy-ish the poles are all colour coordinated, so its really easy to to put up, but we had a bit of trouble with the fly sheet and getting it straight, it seems to pull on the inner tent and lifts the SIG up and some of the doors won't shut properly, but I think we just need to refine our pitching, it was only that little issue (we couldn't sort it and decided we could live with it for 2 nights!) that stopped me giving the tent a 10.
Overall, if you can find one of these tents for sale, then its well worth the punt :)

We have had our Saturn for 2 months now and have been very satisfied with it. 2 weekends and a week in Cornwall have seen the worst weather that the UK could throw at it. Last week in Cornwall seen constant rain and howling winds that destroyed other tents on site but we were fine.
Initially we had drips coming from the tie up buttons on both of the back doors. This happened one weekend and started again on our week in Widemouth Fields (Great Site). Halfway through the week they stopped. The remainder of the week was comletely dry and drip free. We are still working on getting the pitch right as it tends to pull itself around once the guys and straps are tensioned. This results in the SIG lifting a little and some bedrooms not zipping up fully. The entrance can also flap about a bit in really high winds. I am probably being picky and need to practice erecting (preferably in the dry which always helps. Thanks for the soaking Cornwall) and to be more careful siting with regards to wind direction.
All in all the tent performed perfectly and I would certainly recommend it to families. The living space is massive and plenty of space in the rooms regardless of the configuration. Lots of pockets in all areas and a great 3 door option to suit all seasons. My wife was new to camping and was quite apprehensive. After spending time in this tent she has now come to enjoy the experience and has full confidence in the tent regardless of the weather.

I bought one secondhand from ebay, got it mainly for the size and sig. We used it for 2 nights in east Sussex, and too be honest it took me a while to set up. I don't think we'll use it for a 2 night trip anymore, only for longer trips. There's loads of great features on the tent, electric cable access, sky lights, loads of door vents that you can zip/unzip.
There was quite a lot of condensation on the inside of the outer tent cover, but this cleared within 1hr, not sure what it would be like in cooler weather though.
All in all a great tent, it was only the pitching time, that caused me to lower the score from 10/10.

I was pleasantly surprised on receipt of my tent that despite the pictures, there are in fact 4 bedrooms rather than 3. As previously mentioned they can be made into 2 large ones if so desired. I bought this for my family of me, hubby, 2 year old toddler and 9 month old so we could have a room each plus the additional room for storage. The living area is a fabulous size so that when the weather is bad there is enough space for the 4 of us to manoeuvre. I love the EHU zips around the tent, just so practical. Very easy to put up (and we were new to all this camping malarkey!) with 2 of you, even with children running around. The rooms are all tall and you can stand up in them. Also no problem fitting in travel cots. There is enough room for us as a family to grow into too.! Sleeping 9 may be a bit of a push, but certainly 8 comfortably, and there is always the living area to cram in any stragglers!

We bought the Saturn 9 because of the available space and the sewn in ground sheet. We tested the tent at Beehive Farm and I was surprised at how easily the tent went up, and even more surprised at the ease it went down.Very good tent , spacious, well built and has many useful features. The useful feature I liked the most was the small Velcro tapes up the seams of the tent from the power cable zips to the centre light hanger.
Would definitely recommend this tent for family use.

We bought this tent because of the 4 bedrooms, we found the tent easy to put up and take down, It has a good size porch for storage, the living area is a good size also the bedrooms, we use the 4 bedroom for storage, what we do like about this tent is that you have the option of 4 bedrooms or 2 large bedrooms.
Overall we are very pleased with the tent.

We bought this tent from an online retailer, paid for next day delivery and went away for the weekend as soon as it arrived. I had only seen pictures online but the instructions (sewn into the tent bag) were superb. The tent was easy to erect and from start to finish (Finish being sitting in my sunlounger with cup of tea in hand)took 1hr,30 mins. Thats including inflation of airbeds, kitchen set up etc for 6 people. The poles are colour coded to the sleeves and the inner is put up first followed by the outer fly sheet. It did feel like it was taking a while to get all the clips and ties on to the outer fly sheet but the finished result was a good tight finish. The guy ropes are all High vis and the pegs are of a good quality too. I loved the sewn in groundsheet. The last time we went camping we had a vango with no SIG and had far too many creepy crawlies come visiting (EEK!) The bedrooms are really spacious,we used 3 of the 4 and the spare one was used as our store room, meaning the central area of the tent stayed clutter free. To take the tent down, again a step by step guide sewn into the tent bag keeps you right and gets in all down in the correct order, It was so easy. We even managed to fold it all up and get it back into the bag first time. This is a really good quality and excellent size family tent.
