4 Reviews of the Wyoming 6

We bought this tent in 2007 for about GBP150.00 ish to test camping with the one child then the second one came along as well. The good points are that it withstood 40 mph gusts on Exmoor (except I lost one tent peg. Think the sheep ate it!), and never leaked in some heavy rain. There is plenty of living space, and you can cook under the canopy but as others mentioned water will pool and need to be drained off. The sleeping pods are fine for two and a child, I wouldn't recommend 3. Good light with sky light and windows.

It is a bit of pain to erect, you need two to pull up the middle and we ended up trampling on it to feed through the poles. For us with all guys ropes it takes about 45 mins. The living area groundsheet is separate and not sewn-in as we thought, which made it draughty in strong wind, but the storm flaps reduced this and kept out any water. Ventilation is very good, in fact too good in the wind as you cannot shut it out, but great when it is warm. The bed pods slope is too great with air-beds as after heavy due/rain the inner and outer tents always stuck together as it sagged even with very tight guy ropes.

Summing up:- materially a well made tent that has served us well on 10-12 different 3-5 night trips in the UK, and with stood all the weather which is the main fact. Minor gripes which took the shine off a quality product, though its design is now over 6 years old.

I bought one of these from Costco and have used it for the past two years. Easy but time consuming to erect and cannot be done on your own (1 hr + assistant for 15 minutes of that). Have managed to split two poles for no obvious reason. My biggest disappointment was not being able to close off the central canopy without taking it down - I wanted to be able to leaving a stove in the canopy area but it has to either be inside or out - or moved every time you cook.

I found this tent on the Internet, as I was looking to upgrade having not owned anything larger than a 2 man tent, so I sought advise from a friend who is a seasoned camper. Therefore on his advise I bought this tent and never looked back. Easy to erect, from start to finish it takes two of us 20 - 25 Min's after the first couple of times. Good size bedrooms, and living area big enough to seat 6 adults if the weather is a bit hairy. Airflow around the bedrooms is good, with 3 airflow openings to each bedroom, with being hot all night I find this refreshing. The skylight is excellent allowing as much or as little light as you require. All in all a good buy.

We are a family of four and have recently upgraded from the Coleman BiSpace 500 n to the Wyoming 6 because we wanted the separate bedrooms. It has a large living area which we found very roomy and big enough to be able use it as a living area with tables and chairs and still have enough room for storage. The sleeping areas are wonderful especially with the airflow system as they do not collect condensation that has happened in our other tents and because they are fully enclosed they are very warm. We managed to put it for the first time in windy conditions in about 30 minutes with just 2 of us. The instructions are very clear and easily understood. It rained during the night and there was no sign of water in the tent. Having the 6 zipped skylights is an added bonus if you need to bring more light into the tent. Because of the bad weather we did have all three openings at once but can see how this could be ideal in really hot weather.
