Ok, I said I would update my review so here it is,

End of July 2011 - Brean

Easy to set up as I have practised a good few times, took me and one other about 20mins

Brean is really windy, my tent didnt budge while others were flapping around like flags, so well happy with it

Did rain and stayed perfectly dry

Didnt need the storm straps, even with everyone flapping like mad

Tent was really warm, during the day had all doors and vents open and was ok, during the night still kept some of the vents open as it stayed warm, also while other campers had to use heaters to stay warm, we didnt, one night didnt have my sleeping bag on as it was that warm

Moths were a real bug bear, they kept getting in between the flysheet and the massive inner pod, but apart from that no other issues,

Packing away was simple and did it on my own,

It was drizzling when packing away so when I got home I laid it over the bannister, but, when we used it next we have found the dreaded mold :(

End of Aug 2011 - Dare Valley

Raining most of the time and stayed nice and dry, due to where we were placed, we couldnt set it up taught, so it was quite slack, couldnt get the guy lines out far enough, so it flapped about a lot which also made it cold inside the tent, not the tents fault though

We can fit 6 people, 2 adults and 4 kids on the main bed room and 5 adults in the bottom bedroom, so this tent is perfect value as we could get 11 people in and not be on top of each other

One problem we did experience, in Brean when we had sun, I rolled up the front window cover, later in the day I noticed a burn hole in the SIG and also the GS under it, not sure if it was from the sun through the window or what, but some gaffer tape and you cant see it

After reading the comments on here, I decided to go and buy this tent, it only cost Ł149.99 from Somerset Camping, so I thought what a bargain.

Like the previous poster, you need to be tall to clip the interior tent in, I'm 5'11' and still had to put my daughter on my shoulders to clip it in,

This tent is massive, so much room and I love the fact that all the living area and sleeping areas are one big pod with sections that you can zip and tuck away,

Was a struggle putting it up the first time, took 3 of us about 20 mins, but we reckon next time I can do it on my own with help from my daughter in about the same time,

Clipping the poles into the ring and pin system is quite hard as these are steel poles, what we found was you need to pull the pole sleeve over as much as possible and then it goes in pretty easy

Loads of windows and ventilation through out, even a sunlight in the roof, one main big front door, a porch and door to the right and a door with a canopy to the left, so plenty of access options

We are going on hols soon in it and will update when we get back

Very happy with the tent, found it very roomy with the small storage area a real bonus. The bedroom area sleeps four comfortably, then you can zip the living area in half to create two sections which would easily house the other three. We had some wind and rain and the tent didn't move an inch and was totally watertight. We are looking forward to using it again.

Our first family tent, we liked this tent because its different. The fact that it can be zipped up in several ways appealed. We gave our teenager exclusive use of one sleeping area and used rest of space communally for self,OH and 5 year old. It works really well for us.

The weather was awful especially at night and though the wind howled through the storm lines [ I forgot the old guiding trick of twisting them to stop them vibrating], the tent didn't move at all, although I think it may have reached saturation point by the time we took it down on day 7.

We were pleased to have stayed in Wales for the whole week lots of people around us were giving up and the second site we stayed on resembled Glastonbury.

It was due to the quality of this tent that we were able to stay dry and cosy.

We loved the small porch for storing wellies etc and just for getting wet gear off before going in to main part of the tent. We usd a picnic rug for a carpet, zipped ourselves in and had a great holiday.

Would recommend this tent for a family who need space.

This year we are looking forward to enough dry weather to open the front porch !

A lovely roomy tunnel tent which served our family of four very well on two trips this year. The reason I have not given it a 10 is a) there are a couple of small niggles which I will discuss later; b) there is not a tent made yet which deserves a 10.

Proportions and layout

This is a fly first pitch but is also double skinned throughout (apart from the two porch areas). It is unusual in that after erecting the fly sheet you then hang the whole of the inner tent just as you would normally hang a bedroom inner. Within this massive inner tent there are two bedroom sections at the rear; a middle section which can unzip into the front section which again unzips into the front porch. All of the dividing material then tucks neatly into pockets on the side of the tent. We used ours with two bedrooms at the back and the rest of the inner tent as a huge living area. You could, however, split the living area and use the middle section as living and the other end section as another bedroom -very versatile depending on your needs.

Pitching and striking

Straightforward tunnel tent pitch for the fly sheet which took about 30 minutes to erect. The inner tent then takes about another 30 minutes, but be warned if you’re under 5’10” you’ll need something to stand on to hang the top toggles of the inner. It is simple enough to take down using all the usual tunnel tent advice and although it is a big tent with a lot of material good old Outdoor Revolution supply you with a marvellous outsize bag (and a separate bag for the poles).

Quality issues/materials

The tent withstood some serious torrential downpours and there were no signs of leaks. The taped seems appear to be very robust and there is plenty of material covering the outer zips to prevent water ingress at those points. Although there wasn’t a great deal of wind on either of our trips (2008? Can that be right?) there were a couple of gusty days which didn’t seem to bother the tent (but we do use Delta Pegs). There are plenty of guy-lines (16 including the side porch) on the tent but in addition there are eight storm straps - just to make sure!

Any condensation suffered is barely noticed because it only affects the fly sheet and you are sitting inside the inner tent, even in the living area. The colour way of this tent may not be quite up my street, but it is one of the reasons I chose it because as a very light colour it seems much cooler inside during hot weather than the dark tent we used to have.

Versatility

This is one of the reasons that I really love this tent. During the scorching (yes - in England!) five days on our first trip we had all the doors of the inner and outer tents open all day with the main front door poled out to become a porch. Come the evening we closed up the outer tent doors leaving the inner tent open so we had plenty of air and the curtain on the front door rolls up to reveal a huge clear plastic window so you still get a good view. This set up was also good for rainy weather, but remember to pull the front porch groundsheet well inside or water will pool onto it. Come the chillier evenings you can zip yourselves inside completely and feel very snug with two skins around you. The side porch is very roomy and housed the loo at night as well as all our footwear and buckets n spades etc, still with plenty of room to walk in and out. We unhooked the bedroom divider and had it as one huge bedroom which held two double airbeds and the clothes rack.

Negatives

I would have liked storm flaps on the front and side porch flysheets, or perhaps a bathtub groundsheet in these areas (see my point above about pulling in the groundsheet in the rain). One or two more power point access zips would have been a nice touch, as the only one is by the side door opposite the porch and it restricts where to put the EHU without running the cable across the tent floor.

Overall we were all really impressed with this tent and would highly recommend it for comfortable longer stays.

This model is the largest tent in the Outdoor Revolution line up and sleeps up to 7 people very comfortably. The side porch is also included on this model as well as a nifty canopy over the opposite side window. The design is very modern with stylish shaped windows and a striking new colour way. The flysheet is erected first and the whole inner simply clips into the eyelets provided. The groundsheet is also anodised for better heat retention. Also included are the stability straps, fluorescent guylines and a removable porch groundsheet, allowing a wet entrance when required. The poles are packed seperatye to the canvan allowing quicker and easier pack up too.
