Love the pod set up as I have older children. Great head room in the central dome and adequate in pods to stand and get dressed. Plenty of storage pockets. Easy enough to put up - I did it with a 7 and an 8 year old! You can leave the pod inners attached when you take it down as the tent folds easily into its bag. The first time I used it was a horribly wet and windy few days and it withstood the battering - other people were having to redo guy ropes and pegs each morning but ours had stood firm! On the opposite extreme, I have just returned from a week of exceptionally hot weather where I have had to make full use of the ventilation features.

The only downside is that there is no obvious place to put the 'kitchen' which is a pity considering the size. I did buy the canopy which is a very generous size but because it has no zip door, food has to be kept in the main living area away from local badgers/foxes/hedgehogs.

We were looking for a tent with a good head height for the living space as well as separate pods/rooms. This one was on offer at Go Outdoors a while back so we purchased the tent, the carpets, the footprint and the canopy. Fortunately we had a dry run of putting up the tent in a friends garden - because the 'ring and pin' system for pegging down the tent takes some getting used to - we did an online search to see what we had to do, as there were no instructions for how to use the ring & pin system with the tent! It took the three of us (a couple with a teenage daughter) over an hour to put this tent up, even after a dry run. Having the footprint groundsheet helped a lot in setting up the tent (even though this tent has a groundsheet already sewn in). It has lots of windows/vents with fly screens and a sky light window in the main living area - but it still can get very warm in the tent on hot days. Its a great family tent with lots of space - the not so good side is the time it takes to put up, the 'ring & pin' system, the amount of space it takes up in the car boot, and how hot it can get inside the tent in warm weather.

We have used this tent a few times, now. We have got the hang off putting it up takes about 40mins, husband even managed to put up with a 7yr old, as we need to dry tent in garden, I managed with the 7yr old to get down to. We did think about pitch sizes but all camp sites we have used have been fine with the tent and canopy on. Great tent keeps rain out and still have space to sort things out, kids even have there own sleeping area. We have brought canopy gives lots more space for cooking even in the rain with a windbreak infront, footprint (great to work out where to pitch the tent) and carpet, give more luxury in cool nights.

Just used for 1st time and really happy with our purchase. As others have advised the footprint is very handy when deciding where to pitch as it is a large tent! Husband and I put up (with help from 3yr old!) in about 1.5hr start to finish including pods etc - and this was only our 2nd time (1 trial run at home first). Spacious, large pods - like how they are arranged around central living area. Living area plenty big enough for our table, 3 chairs, fridge and other family 'junk'! Reasonably easy to stow away, as others have mentioned you can fit footprint in existing bags. Have porch too but that is so big we didnt use as would have encroached onto the next pitch. All in all a great family tent - very happy.

We are just back from our second trip using our Sahara 6.

The tent is amazingly roomy and comfortable. Our 2 children loved having their own bedroom. The living space is cavernous and having the tent carpet made us feel like we were at home.

The tent took 1.5hrs to put up and you definitely need at least 2 of you to do it. The poles are a little fiddly but once erected the tent is rigid and secure. Having the footprint is a must when choosing where to erect the tent - as it is so big you really need to choose your pitch carefully (sites are now cottoning on to the fact that tents are getting bigger and try to charge you more - check that the site will take a 'jumbo' tent as you don't want to turn up and find your tent won't fit).

We had a night of rain and the tent stayed warm and dry. The windows on the tent allow plenty of light and there are loads of ventilation points (inc. In the bedrooms) so the tent always felt fresh and not stuffy.

The tent comes with hanging pouches so there are plenty of places to store the little things that normally get lost.

All in all we love our tent - it is perfect for our family of 4 + a dog. The only negative is the length of time to put up (1.5hrs) and take down (1hr). But, for the standard of living whilst in the tent we think that it is worth it :) The tent easily fits back into its carry bag so don't worry about needing military precision folding it back up :-)

I bought the tent in July 2011 after reading a lot of reviews on here about it. I took the family to see in it at go outdoors they all loved it the kids loved the fact of separate bedrooms!. We took it camping in august for 5 days our first ever camping trip. We pitched the tent in the rain in about 1 hour the instructions could be better but all colour coded so straight forward. We bought the footprint and carpet these are well worth it the carpet makes it a lot nicer underfoot. It's huge inside the living area, we had 6 adults and 4 children sat in it watching a film all of us in separate chairs!. We also loved the sewn in groundsheet as we never had any bugs inside ( unlike the tent next to ours!) it rained the first night very heavily and we stayed dry as a bone! The only bad point I can say is like another person on here has reported the red pole on the front had split when we packed it away but go outdoors replaced it no problems. Packing it away was a breeze the bag is plenty big enough I managed to fit the footprint into the outer tent bag without a problem. I'm so looking forward to going away with it again we all love it a great tent.

Bought this in July 2011, we chose it as it has a large central area and 3 large sleeping pods. I put up the outter in 1 hour, with a little help from my boys when they pushed up the center of the tent, so, it is a fair assumption, with 2 adults working together, 45mins would be ample time, trust me when I say I wasn't in a hurry. Tip, as other have said get the foot print! It makes life so much easier when trying to locate where to put your tent. Once the outer was up the inside pods were up in 10 min's that easy and that quick. The instructions are not the best, but colour coded poles, so really its straight forward. Once up there are a lot of guy ropes, lots of them, but again they are pre attached so pegging out is simple. Just returned from 2 nights with MRS, and boys aged 9 & 6 and a young girl 4 They loved it, plenty of room, in fact for breakfast the table went in the central section with room to move around as well. Ventilation was good and really no major problems, but here are the negatives

The red pole for the porch was split! replaced prior to camping trip, and the hook which holds the corner of the bed pods in, in one pod it was missing, sorted by Go Outdoors on our return, the rest was all good news. In short (if you have read this far) large, easy(ish) to pitch vented well and good value for the money, I am very happy with the purchase

We love it. Wanted a tent with plenty of space and separate bedrooms, and the Sahara 6 is just the ticket. It lets in lots of lights, with plenty of windows and a skylight, which is a nice touch. It was a good idea to buy the footprint as well, so thanks to the reviewers who mentioned this. It is fairly simple to errect, and the instructions are stitched inside the bag. The most time consuming part are the guy lines, there are loads of them.

We have had a very hot week in Devon, so were grateful for the ventilation windows in the bedrooms and main living area and a very wet start to the bank holiday weekend, for which we all stayed very dry and cosy.

We also like the cup holders and extra hanging pockets, that we can keep our bits and pieces in. The pockets are especially handy.

There is enough space in the main living area for dining table and stools, plus kitchen stand and 4 chairs. With space to manoeuvre round them.

Fantastic space and value for money.

This tent is superb, roomy and stylish. As novice campers I was nervous about such a large tent however I needn't have been. Took about an hour and a half to put up, on my own, in the rain, but the majority of that was pegging the guy ropes out. It's advantageous that you initially erect the outer fly sheet in about15 mins at which point the kids and missus can get in and start on the interior, so I was the only one who got drenched. No leaks at all but some condensation after very chilly night. Quick blast with the fan heater sorted that. Kids loved the pods and the tent is massive. We also bought the canopy that turns the tent into a monster with loads of room for sheltered cooking, wet shoes etc. Be warned that with the canopy fitted it's about 10 metres long with the guy ropes and it just fit inside the pitch at Cofton Country Park, Very impressed

The Sahara 6 is the tent to turn heads! We've used it over a dozen times and it's still as good as new despite hot sun blazing down on it, not forgetting the recent torrential rain and heavy winds which it kept out.

The Sahara 6 has 3 separate bedrooms which is great as you don't have to sleep next to another bedroom as they all go off from the main tent in separate directions.

As only two of use the tent normally, we use the centre pod as the bedroom as it has a fully opening door on the outer shell, but the inner lining can be closed leaving just a mesh so you can keep cool on a warm night without fear of midgies sneaking into the bed. The other pods we use one as a storage and one as the toilet.

The main dome itself is large enough to place two double airbeds ONTOP of the 3 bedrooms and leave ample room, the tent really is huge! Although classed as a 6 berth you easily sleep 10 people. The main dome has a triangular skylight which has a cover should the sun be too strong it also has two huge side windows with foldaway blinds and two smaller windows to the rear also with foldaway blinds and fly mesh which can be closed from outside with plastics covers to keep the rain out.

The Sahara 6 also has two small openings so you can run your electric cable easily. You also have inner Velcro roof straps so you can run a cable to the centre light.

The Sahara 6 comes with two drink holders which simply hook into the back walls of the tent and two storage holders about 4 foot wide by 2-3 foot high.

The front of the tent has a canopy, which we have learned during a rain storm can be left up but still keep the rain out by removing one of the 3 poles on one side so the canopy is at a slope and angling it toward the direction of the rain, you can then sit under the canopy and watch the world go by.

I will confess, the first time putting this tent up would make you feel like taking it back as it does have loads of guy ropes, I think it took us 2 hours the first time. It now takes less than 45 minutes to put up and is well worth the time as it's as big as a house (almost).

To have a look at this tent in action take a trip to your local Go-Outdoors, it's worth every penny as it has the space, keeps out the heavy rain and has loads of ventilation to keep out the heat. I wouldn't swap this tent if someone offered me a free upgrade! We also have the carpet which at Ł70 really does make a difference to the tent and we use a picnic blanket for the canopy/outer doorway area. We be using again in a couple of weeks and will be buying the canopy to add even more space.
