2007 UK Caravan & Motorhome Spring Fair

The Location of the Newark Spring Fair was excellent, Well signposted & very easy to find just off the A46 North of Newark.

On Arrival we were greeted by the gate staff with a programme and a lovely bunch of daffodils.

We were taken by another member of staff on a scooter & directed to our pitch. Although there weren't any electric pitches, except for the disabled, they were a good size & we didn't feel cramped.

There were literally hundreds of motorhomes & Caravans as well as a few tents there for the weekends entertainment and the show.

Friday evening there was entertainment in one of the halls which were a bit basic but very warm & comfortable, with plenty of room and tables & chairs to accommodate everyone, even though there was a bar you were allowed to consume you're own alcohol, which we thought was great. The entertainment consisted of a tribute act which was very good.

Saturday morning the crowds started to descend on the showground, where there were quite a few trade stands & stalls, selling all types of equipment, satellite systems, boats, camping gear, Outdoor clothing, rooftop tents, generators, pots pans, more or less a bit of everything to do with leisure could be found, including all those gadgets that you just can't live without! some of it was under cover but most of it outside.

There were stands selling new & used Caravans, & Motorhomes, as well as American trailers & UV's to tow them with, the variety was really quite good. There was also inflatable bouncy castles & the like to keep the kids entertainedfood stalls and drinks & newspapers, all at reasonable prices.

Saturday night again, there was free entertainment for all the people who had booked a weekend camping ticket, another tribute band, followed by a World champion darts player who gave us a a demonstration on just how he won the World title, as well as taking on members of the audience & challenging them to a darts match.

Sunday, yet again the crowds converged on the Show Ground and took a leisurly stroll around to see what was on offer.

There was no rush to leave the show on Sunday & in my opinion it was very well organised, all the staff were very polite & helpful and that helped to make it a success.

Considering this was the 1st time that this show had been organised I think they did a good job, and hopefully some of the bigger names in the leisure industry will take trade stands next year.

After speaking to one of this years organisers he informed me that some of the bigger names had been approached, but they wanted to see how this years show went before they would commit to attending next year, so fingers crossed they will make an appearance, which will help to make it bigger & better.

All in all it was a very enjoyable weekend.
