Every now and then someone sends us a product to test, which is so simple, yet
such a good idea, we kick ourselves that we didn't come up with it. The Snap
Capp is one of those things.....
They simply clip over the top of any standard
sized drinks can (330, 440, 500ml) and convert it into an easily portable,
re-closable, non-spilling, identifiable bottle. They also stop creepy crawlies
getting into your open drink, and help keep them fizzy. They come in a variety
of colours, so are also useful for identifying drinks when in group. Being able to seal a can also means less worries about possbile drink spiking.
I've lost count of the number of times I have put down an open can next to my
chair outside the tent, only for it to topple over on uneven ground. Even if
it's flat, the dog charges up to me and knocks it over, or one of the kids kicks
a ball at it tipping it everywhere.
Even when I put the can in the 'drinks
holder' that many camping chairs have, I'm always worried that next time I pick
it up, a wasp will have crawled into it, giving me a nasty sting on the next
sip!
Well this brilliant invention stops all those things happening. Absolutely
perfect for use when camping, caravanning, walking, or any outside activity. I
took the dog for a walk the other day, and rather than having to hold my open
coke can the whole time, I simply clipped on a Snap Capp, and put it in my
pocket!
I also found it ideal whilst watching the footie the other night, and
having a couple of beers. No more worrying about the wife throwing me out for
spilling a can on the new carpet, just snap on the cover, and hey presto, I'm
going to live to watch another game!
They're brilliant for kids too, protecting open cans from wasps, so you don't worry about them getting stung, and meaning they can run around, cycle and play without loosing their drink all over the place!
When testing I was a little apprehensive about how good the seal would be,
but they simply didn't leak at all. Even when chucked in a rucksack, and also
lying on it's side on a car seat, not a drop came out. Once the capp is on, you
just unscrew the top, take a sip, then screw it back on. The capps fit tightly,
but are quite easy to get on, and simply 'snap' back off when finished. You can
then wash it, and reuse it over and over again. To see it in action, watch the
videos on the right!
Where to get them!
At the time of writing Snap Capps aren't available in many UK shops, but you can buy them online from http://www.snapcapps.org.uk They cost from just £1.73 each, which I think makes them an absolute must for pretty much everybody!
