Reflectapeg Screw Peg

Here at the UKCampsite.co.uk we were asked to test a new kind of screw peg that promises to offer more than traditional types.

Whilst looking into these pegs, we were informed by the inventor of Reflectapegs that he started caravanning and found that screw pegs were a great way of securing his awning in hard-standings and grass pitches.

However the problem was that he kept on tripping over the screw pegs and guy lines because he couldn’t see the pegs in the ground. On top of that he would usually lose 1 peg each time he left site.

He decided to design a more visible screw peg.

After many prototypes the result was a screw peg that was much more visible during the day. With the addition of a reflective disc, it became clearly visible at night with a torch.

The Camping and Caravanning club reviewed Reflectapegs in their April and May editions this year and commented that Reflectapegs were “sturdy screw pegs” with “resilient plastic ends”,“even a modest head torch is well reflected”.

Using Reflectapegs

A normal rubber or wooden camping mallet will drive the pegs into most soft surfaces. Though if you have 30 to do, it is much easier to use a battery drill.
Removal is simple - just place your fingers under the large head and gently pull.

Hard standings require the use of a battery drill and the 200mm length of the peg drives deep into more stable ground giving a good anchorage for ladder straps or guy lines.

Removal is easy – just put your drill into reverse and screw them out!

Reflectapegs are designed and manufactured in the UK and are available in packs of 10, 20 or the awning pack of 30.

Drill adaptors are available separately for the 10 and 20 packs but one is included with the Awning pack of 30 pegs.
