Camping Champ de la Chapelle is a spacious and peaceful campsite on the edge of the Forest of Troncais, right in the very centre of France. Easily accessible from the A71 Motorway. The Campsite provides the perfect base for a relaxing holiday.
It is set in 6 hectares with spacious pitches and
open areas surrounded by woodland. 60 pitches have water and 10 amp electricity
hookups and for the wild campers there are 20 large pitches spread over 2
hectares.

There is a separate ladies and gents shower and toilet facilities block with a
disabled shower and toilet next to the laundry room and dish washing area.
They also have mobile homes and fully equipped tents available for rent.
The campsite has a bar/cafe with covered terrace (with free wifi) situated by the swimming pool.
At night this area hosts wine and cheese evenings, camp fires with marshmallows
to toast and is a focal point for the Campsite. Daily bread deliveries are made during high season.
If you like to get off site, in reception you will find maps and information
about local attractions and also a free library with novels in a number of
languages.
If you prefer to stay on site there is a nine hole 'foot golf' course,
volleyball pitch, small children's play area with sandpit and swings.
There is a
play area for older children with rope bridge and a tree house and even plenty
of room to build your own den. For teenagers they have a 'teen club' with table
football, PS2 and Wii.
What's in and around the Area?
This is an area famous as 'la France profonde' or deep France, as this
idyllic region, unspoilt by mass tourism, is known. Rich in both scenery and
history, Chateaux, Abbeys, medieval towns and villages are only a short drive
away.
The local town, Saint Bonnet Tronçais, has shops, bar, pizzeria and a doctors
surgery, as well as a swimming lake with sandy beach. There are also a number of
excellent restaurants to be found locally.
For the more adventurous holiday makers, horse riding, kayaking and zip wires
are on offer in the surrounding area.
The region is also renowned for the quality of its rivers and lakes for angling.
Medieval fetes, car / air shows, brocantes and local markets are great fun and
can be found across the region and even the famous Braize Donkey fair in August.
