Well, I can't offer any feedback yet other than to say we just bought one. Practice runs in the back garden indicate it's a doddle to erect, It's a true 4 berth and packs away no bigger than most 2 berth outfits we looked at, time will tell as far as spares are concerned. We will be giving it it's 1st outing mid July for a few nights so I'll let you know how we get on.

Hi snafu, you got any feed back on the Inesca Tirol? Have just bought one myself

It always rains on tents. Rainstorms will travel thousands of miles, against prevailing winds for the opportunity to rain on a tent.

Hi Terry,
Sorry missed this reply, All feedback is very positive, we braved the wind and rain several times last year and are off for the 1st trip of 2009 tomorrow. It doesn't leak, stays where it's put in gale force winds and is surprisingly roomy (Although only the 2 of us) and warm as well. It tows really well behind our little Suzuki Jimny. The beds are a bit small, I'm only 5' 8" but can't really stretch out, all in all we like it a lot. A word of advice though if you are expecting a lot of rain take the canopy off, it bows in the middle and fills up with water, then when you walk out 1st thing the next morning (Or for a midnight pee) your head brushes the canopy and all the water pours around the sides all over you (Don't ask how I know this).. I had never seen or heard of them before we bought ours and now there seems to be quite a few around.

Hi Terry,
We had a fantastic time at a favourite haunt of ours. An excellent camp site called Newhall Farm just north of Nottingham. No we don't have any insurance, although it's kept locked in a secure brick garage with an alarm, ground anchor and wheel clamp. As you can imagine using the Jimny as a tow car does mean space is at a premium. We have a roof box which is attached to the rack on the Tirol. It's about as wide and long as the rack and the height is a few inches lower than the fold up support leg. We also have a garden storage box mounted on the "A frame" to store the gas bottle etc. I'll try to find a picture of it "Ready to roll" so you can get a better idea.

The only disadvantage we have found with this arrangement is you have to empty the roof box before putting it up and of course load it last after taking it down. This can be a major exercise in logistics if the weather decides not to co operate.

Did you get any instructions with yours? We didn't and to this day I don't know if we are actually erecting it correctly.    But it's not fell down yet so I think we have it right.

TTFN
John and Jo.

Hi Gordon, seeing you suggested forming an Inesca owners club why don't you start it up. I tow mine with a Renault Scenic Megane 1600. Do you have a box on the A- frame? Am looking to get one or build one myself. I too looked at camplet was impressed with them but the price was too much for me. Have tried on ebay but always out bid.

We have just bought a Inesca Monaco (which looks identical to Terrys Tirol) Ok I am not in the UK but you can count me in, I might even find some info on them !

We got it second hand & think it was made about 2000ish by the design & paid 700Euros. The original owner went for most of the extras it seems.

Roof liner, awning, big box on the front of the trailer, silly little hanging lamp (matching colours) only thing missing is the side stowage bars. I have emailed Inesca for any info on part availability but so far no reply. We have two joints that need welding or replacing, the main one which you put in & one of the side's that slide up (corner piece).

We haven't actually slept in it yet but have trailed it around behind the Renault traffic & put it up a couple of times. When it's all fixed we may go for a trial run up to Andorra (because they have a great camping shop  just in case we need anything.)

Me again,

This is their website http://www.inesca.com/espanol/inicio.html I just had a chat with a nice Spanish Lady who told me, they don't have any spares & don't know any one that does.  GREAT...

But they seem very similar to the Comanches...  we have a dealer locally & will check out the bits  http://www.comanche.biz/en_home.asp

I have been thinking about it , also been searching the net (Spanish side) for any info, if Inesca have been making trailers for 50 odd years you would think there would be more info on them, but then again the Spanish are relatively new to the net !

And I think we would need more than 3 members
