Hi anyone out there got one of these, they seem pretty rare? We used to have an Esterel a few years ago, there are plenty of those about. Ours is about 1990 or so we were told, the person we brought it off knew nothing much about it! It is the Marque model, have searched the net and not come up with much at all.
Its turned out to be a bit of a project :( what we were told was minor damage in one corner has turned out to be anything but! It was a load of rot all along the one folding panel, very bad! Thank goodness my good ol Dad is putting it right or we would be right in it!!! Dreaded Ebay again Im afraid!!!

Not got a Fleurette I'm afraid but owners of an Esterel for the last 10 days! I don't think there's a lot between the Fleurette/Esterel or Casita is there they all look very very similar, perhaps we should all just join forces under a generic folding caravan thread!

Hi Andy, yes that sounds a good idea!!!! Is Casita French to? We loved our Esterel, it was a 1980 model, 3/4 berth. We only parted with it because with 2 growing children we thought a folding camper would give us more room and we would not always have to put an awning up! We had the FC for 3 years, 3 WET years and decided a folding caravan would suit us better as we didnt have to worry about wet canvas! I love the name of your van by the way

Not sure if the Casita's are French or Spanish lol. Have a look on the thread running at the moment, some nice pics on there of FC's being done up/been done up!

We had a Dandy until 2 weeks ago today, loved it but too much of a faff putting it up for the OH he huffed and puffed lots! So we bought Ethelburt lol. Still in the process of doing him up, have laid new floor, painted ceiling, replaced curtains, new cushion covers and replaced door handles. Thinking about painting walls (after looking at the Casita pics) and possibly the outside although going to give T Cut a go first.

Oooooo, had a look at photos, its looking gr8 well done! May have to paint ours inside after the repair work to match the other sides. Its a bit of a money pit at the moment, everything you touch breaks or drops off! Just found one of the big windows does not open, Dad tried to fix it but the whole frame has dropped and it would mean taking out the whole window, so we have fixed it shut for now! Im thinking of calling it Christine, if you get my drift!!! Im sure its out to get us!

hehe I'm sure it's not out to get you just try your patience! There's someone else on here that is refurbishing their Fleurette I can't think of her name right now though, will have a think!

There's loads I could do with Ethelburt but after the initial facelift the other bits will be done a bit at a time. Hoping to go away next week, at least we know it doesn't leak as it's been up for the past 10 days while we've been doing stuff to it.

I painted the 'middle bit' of Ethelbert at the weekend! Have added a pic of him to the others, hopefully will get some more pics this weekend as we're away at Pillaton.

I would like to join an owners club, you really dont see a lot of the older Fleurette's about, I've seen a few of the newer ones on camps, mine is a 12ft long van plus the A frame, its a 3 berth and is remarkably comfortable despite its tiny size, luckily there was an awning with it as the brand new ones that fit pop tops are an amazing £900 to buy! cant exactly fathom that one as its a small awning compared to most on the average size vans but they cost so much more, absolutely nuts, ours also had some damage in one corner which had let in damp but had it done now and its watertight, I just love towing it as there is very little movement from it on the back of the car as opposed to the swift challenger which I found to be a bit more difficult to tow, we also had to buy the corner steadies for the fleurette and the OH had to modify some we got from a caravan breakers, we also just replaced two windows that were cracked, they also come from the breakers, I thought the size would be hard to get but apparently their pretty much a standard size albeit small, well worth phoning breakers to find parts for it as new parts seem pretty much impossible to find.

Forgot to say we also got a new set of Fleurette decals from ebay for an amazing £9.99 and they fit perfectly, the originals on the van were all faded and had bits missing but they are now replaced and it looks lovely again.
