Has anyone had any trouble with the sink above the toilet. The water has started to come out of the hole where the pipe goes through the side when lifted.
I've had the back off and can see the two pipes. Question is, did the pipe go onto the bottom of the drainer or was it just laying in the bottom ?

We stopped using ours as water was prone to coming out back when you lift it and just used our kitchen sink instead.
It is a funny design on that bit that I never did get my head around sorry!
We decided to do the same as it's a PITA otherwise.

Same here...we never used it because it used to trickle down the back when we lifted it back up...and it was a pain getting stuff like toothpaste to actually go down the hole.
Venturis4, Your problem is that the drainage pipe has come away from the waste (the plug hole). The sink is plastic welded so will not come apart. As such when you remove the plug, the water is gathering inside the sink itself (its a hollow unit). When you lift it, the water will run down the back of the wall and onto the floor. This really is a stupid design and a poor way for pennine to fit the waste pipe.
Only way to fix it, unclip the bowl. Unscrew the plug hole (the waste) using the screw in the middle. The waste will then fall into the inside of the sink. Shake the bowl so that the waste falls to the hole on the left side of the sink and the spigot that the waste pipe fits onto is protruding through the hole. Hold this with a pair of pliers or grips and fasten to it a new piece of waste pipe approx 8-10" long. Fasten it tight with a jubilee clip (if Pennine had done this you wouldn't have a problem).
Now the tricky bit. You have to get the waste back to the centre and screw it back in. Easiest way is to insert something into the waste pipe to help you move it around. I did this for somebody and used a long drill bit as I had one to hand. Get a friend to help you as you will need an extra pair of hands. Once you have moved it to the centre get the other person to screw it in.
Then using something like a washing machine waste pipe coupler, join the new pipe to the existing waste pipe (currently sticking out of the side wall, probably white in colour). Then clip the sink back in place and hey presto.
Sounds like an awful lot but is really easy and will take 15 -20 mins. Use an off cut from a washing machine waste hose available in b&q etc.
Fold down the bowl and push the sides in a bit at the rear then you should see feel and hear it unclip. It's just a simple push fit clip one on each side
See thats the power of the internet.....thanks johnyfuggles you are the man. Got the sink off (you have to be brave) just need to get jubilee clips and connector and we will be back to normal. Cheers and thanks again.
Be patient with it. If you are a handy person anyway it should be a doddle but if not it is easy just need to be patient. If you can't get the jubilee clip in the hole use a cable tie or something just to hold it in place. Don't use silicone as the pipe just slides back off.
Good luck, any questions then give me a shout
That's great advice on how to repair the basin outlet. I had the same problem in a very young sink and ended up having to buy a new replacement.......wish I'd had your guidance then!
Thanks for all the advice, after a bit of a struggle getting the drainer to get the top screwed back on, we are all back to normal and water is now going where it should!!
Failed miserably with the long drill bit method, but my Wife being an Engineers daughter came up with a great idea. After placing the basin on a blanket to protect the bottom of the basin, we basically got the bottom bit of the drainer roughly by the hole, grabbed the centre stem where the screw goes to position it bang on the hole, apply downward pressure to the whole basin which locked the outlet in place and a deft bit of quick screwdriver work and ta da! All done
One question - does this fix make ALL the water go down the waste pipe or do you still get a bit down the back when the sink is folded up.
The reason I ask is after reading the posts above, I pulled the sink off and looked in and the waste seems to be connected. But I noticed that there is a small drain hole below the sink, at the back, which must be there for a reason.
I get a tiny bit of water which comes down the back when I fold up the sink and I'm wondering if its worth re-doing the waste pipe to stop it or will it continue as it is now.

Yes you will still get a small amount of water run down onto the toilet lid, more so if the camper is not dead level. Just lift the sink slowly when putting it away.
That's the bit thats doing my head in. If the waste is connected properly, the sink is not cracked and the camper is level - where does this small amount of water come from?.
I've not thought much about it for a couple of years since I bought the camper, making sure the sink is lifted slowly, but since I've read this thread its got me wondering. In theory, if everything is watertight, it shouldn't leak but it obviously does because Pennine put that small catch drain there for that very purpose when the sink is lifted.
