I am pretty sure that Flogas do a small container.
Not sure of regulations but I think that most camp sites will not allow a gas cylinder to be kept in the open

Firstly, Calor announced they were discontinuing the 4.5kg cylinder in Jan last year, BUT after pressure from the boating industry, they announced in Dec last year (well, sort of announced, still not showing on their website, but publicised in boating magazines!) that they are doing a U-turn and continuing them! - BUT there is now a shortage of cylinders, so refills may be hard come by, but theoretically available!

FloGas do an equivalent sized cylinder, but with a different regulator/hose coupling fitting! So you can carry on putting the cylinder in your locker. I believe the FloGas cylinder dimensions are slightly different to the Calor cylinder, so worth having a measure up to ensure it will fit! https://www.flogas.co.uk/shop/category/all-cylinders/page/2

As mentioned previously, many camp sites, the big clubs included, will not allow an external freestanding cylinder, so a long hose and external cylinder may NOT be your solution! Long hoses that can potentially have a dip that liquid gas can accumulate in are regarded as a no-no as well!

Cant speak for the specifics of the Crusader, but most caravans have the EHU point in the battery compartment, but the door has a notch out of the rim at the bottom which allows it to be closed and locked with the EHU plug connected and the cable safely located in the notch. Possible I guess that it's had a replacement door and it's not the correct battery/EHU compartment type if lacking a notch in the rim!

Leisure gaz do a very similar canister to the Campingaz 907, but it's yellow and a lot cheaper, I got one last year to substitute my calor bottle

That's a new one I hadn't heard of before, good to know there is a cost-effective alternative to the rip off Campingaz though! Never know, a bit of direct competition may force Campingaz to adjust their pricing!

Don't seem to be that many dealers as yet, and of course it's not as European wide as Campingaz is for foreign use. But I know a few people who may appreciate it for UK use.

I bought a couple of Campingaz 907's, but was shocked at the price of refills - £50 for 2.7kg!

I did consider Flogas (and actually I got my 907 refills from them), but apparently there are two different types of the 4.5kg bottles: one fits in a Pathfinder/Crusader, one doesn't. If you're relying on delivery, Flogas can't guarantee which shape bottle you'll get.

So I did some measurements, and found that in theory, the Calor Patiogas 5kg should fit... I'll find out in a week or two when my Pathfinder comes out of storage.

Patiogas is propane, so should be slightly more expensive, but it turns out a refill is less than £25 - so almost quarter of the price of Campingaz!

If all goes well, I'll be sticking with Patiogas as they stock it locally. Otherwise it's great to know the old 4.5kg butane bottles are coming back.

OK - confirmed. The 5Kg Calor Patiogas fits in the Pennine Pathfinder gas cabinet, so it should in theory also fit in the Conway Crusader too. Regulators are easy to obtain from Amazon or eBay.

It's a far cheaper option than the Campingaz, and also has the advantage of you being able to use it in colder weather with it being propane rather than butane.
