Has your display model been inside or outside? We had ours £700 off list price with a free awning and skirts for 6 weeks in side with no one allowed in it unescorted. Still all wrapped up in plastic and with lightweight poles (£100) and alko hitch thrown in as well.

The display model is inside, but all I've been offered is a free awning.  Think I'd prefer to have a brand spanker and pay for the awning if that's the best on offer.

Their web site doesn't actually list the continental for this year. Trouble is Phil easter onward isn't actually a buyers market. The deals are to be had over the winter and around the big shows. Do you want it for this season? if so your bargaining power is dropping fast. Wait till the end of the summer and any stock left will drop in price.

Thanks Jan.  Is there a site where the big shows are advertised?

I'm looking to buy a Pennine Sterling Camper (priced at £6995) and went to see a dealer yersterday. He offered me an alternative of the Pennine Continental (priced at £4995) stating that the only difference between them was the fact that the Sterling has electric hook up and the Continental doesn't. He further stated that he could sell me a hook up set for £70 therefore saving me best part of £2000. Is this the case that this is the only difference between the 2 models? I would appreciate any views or recommendations on this, as I'm brand spanking new to this camping malarky!

if you are still looking for a continental there is one local to me, and i have seen it erected, it is virtually unused and immaculate, the people bought it from highbridge but then decided to go big, and bought a campervan,

Caseys's Outdoor Leisure have the 2007 Continental at £4995. They dont state the cost of the additional awning on the website this year - but I remember last year it was an additonal £800 for the full awning. It's another £299 if you want an extension/annexe and more still for the bed skirts.

If it were me, I'd take the showroom model with the awning thrown in. Then again, I'd look to buy one a couple of years old (like I did....in Dec 06 I bought a 2005 model - making it just 13 months old for £3500 with full awning, the electrics fitted professionally and loads of accessories, like a combicool fridge) - trouble is, they are few and far between. Found ours on preloved.co.uk

Hi, I have just bought a second hand sterling in May and been away twice already.  I would definitely opt for the sterling over the continental less hassle with electrics and fridge etc.  If you are looking to view folding campers try Barons at Coppel which is on the M6 i don't know how far that is away from you though.  For the amount of money you are willing to spend i would have a look at second hand models and try and get pathfinder with toilet built in.  My sterling does not have gas struts but with two people to fold out it is still easy.  You could also look at a conway(same company as pennine) the only difference really is that the conway pulls out rather than folds.  Have a look on the pennine website at the video demo for further info if thats any help.

Phil,

I have a second hand Pullman for sale. There is a brief advert on this site (http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/classads/forsale/view.asp?ad=7-5-8-16112&subj=Pennine+Pullman).

Not sure if you are still looking. If you want new caseys have always been very good.
