caravans are made of solid hard surfaces and are definately not breathable but dont suffer from much  condensation. recent dandies are insulated throughout whereas on older ones insulation of the side panels (at ends of beds) was extra (exept on destinies in which it is included). The majority of blue & white ones seem to have this insulation.  For what its worth I have camped many times with temperatures below freezing without experiencing any condensation other than on the single glazed glass windows on older models & that includes with 2 adults & 2 teenagers in the smallest dandy.  However I have always had & used the riviera underfloor heater .

All I can say Jan is if I am ever in the same field as you, come for a visit....  and inspect and compare so to speak.  There are air vents built into the Dandy and it is recommended by the manufacturere that you leave the windows open a crack... in fact there is a setting specifically for this purpose.  It is not completely air tight.. I am experimenting with cake making in the double skillett at the moment so you might get a sample too....

I am not saying there is zero.... boiling pasta open lidded eg.. but it is a comfortable environment... Yeh okay they do look eccentric, quaint/odd depending on your standpoint.. the idea sounds completely mad... but they work.  I am not knocking canvas.. I have had canvas tents they have real charm and smell lovely. However now reached that point I do not want to deal with the dry out routine, been there got the T shirt.. want something easy and comfortable.

I'm not sure why but every so often you get a Dandy that does have condensation. Most don't it seems. If you do have trouble with condensationthe trick I've found id to use a fan heater an d make sure the warm air can circulate round the whole unit. If we leave the curtains closed to shield the kids then we used to get some condensation. we don't now as we've got an insultaed one.

could it be anything to do with heavy breathers  , snorers  or flatulators  who might shove out more than their fair share of nocturnal damp air!!!
