Anyone any idea if that would be okay for the front of my Dandy?  Seems an easier way than making one.

Thanks

The Older Conways have two bars fitted to the chassis about 15" from the draw bar that pull out and allow you to fix a box maybe you could fix something similar

Just make sure that you don't totally overload the nose and exceed the noseweight. Plus the difference between the two weights on your chassis plate is the total payload your TT is rated to carry, btw, so count that into your calculations ie weight of box plus gas plus fixings. You might find after you've bolted that lot on you can't pack so much as a teaspoon into the actual TT.

Oh, and if your TT exceeds a certain gross weight it MUST be braked, so don't be tempted to take the brakes off to give more space anywhere.

I know that many folk have fitted garden boxes quite sucessfully to their TTs but do bear in mind that these will not be of the same standard, strength or capacity as the original type sold. Also that drilling towbars, chassis and fitting on other braces or clamps might weaken the structural integrity of an object that you'll be towing at 60mph behind the car in which you and your kids are sitting. Be cautious, be careful, and if in doubt, don't.

As to the home-made gas fittings, if you're not a trained gas fitter then please don't either. Sleeping right next to a bodged-up gas appliance would not be my first choice of how to spend a safe holiday. Keep the gas out in the awning.

lol.......thanks val.......

im an electrician by trade.......so im good with the technical stuff.....also i have some great plumber friends....dont worry.....i wont be doing anything silly.

the box IS just a snap-together one....but once ive finished with it, it will be structurally sound, thanks to Evets for the tip.....i might use that im my build. I will be using industrial strength Grip-Fill when i put the box together. So that should do the job quite nicely. i will be making a stronger platform for the box to sit-on, as others have said the garden box has quite a flimsy base. (not for long though lol)

i will post a pic or 2 when job is completed.

Regards to all.

Ade.
