It must be said I never got the appeal of a caravan (hangd head in shame).
It's just that they are astronomically expensive to buy, store, insure, tow and camp in, and after all that cash, you still have to make the damn beds up every night, you've got next to no living space at all and you have to f at rt about with poles and pegs anyway to get the awning up.
For me, it will always be folding campers for money-no-object luxury, trailer tents for a sensible family compromise and loads of space, and a tent for budget camping or backpacking. Mind you, I've got all three, and my OH has threatened me with degree nisi if I buy any other methods of sleeping in a field.
