I initially lucked-out on bids for Conformatic and an Exportmatic.  Then I bid, and got the Recordmatic and am well pleased with it.

My OH, Barbara, who was a reluctant camper and an even more reluctant caravaner actually adores the Rapido!  We just love driving into the campsite as a trailertent and becoming a wooden tent to the amazement of many.  We don't do EHU so get away from the regimented rows af caravans yet have the creature comforts all erected within 15 minutes.  That includes the  Shower/toilet tent but not the porch awning.  I take my time on that after a cuppa.  I love the compactness of the Conformatic and the ability to erect it solo.

Dear Fidgad,
Which awning do you use? I like the sound of getting away from the EHU caravan sites and going for the quieter ones - any recommendations for sites that are flat enough and quiet?(we are in the South West, so are planning to head into Wales quite a lot.
I notice you have a picture of a Motorbike pulling a trailer - is that a folder too?
One other question for anyone else who knows about these things - Would I be able to do the maintenance on the trailer myself, things like greasing the suspension, adjusting brakes, etc? I used to do some very simple basic stuff on my old Moggy Minor, so am not completely hopeless at practical stuff!

Hi Hemulen

I can't remember the name of it at the moment and it is tucked up under the cover of the Rapido which is tucked away away at the back of the garage.  I think it was an Elizabethan but could be wrong.  I'll put a piccy in my gallery showing side panel design which allows for both windbreak and privacy when caravan door is open by replacing one of the bike trailer which, as you asked, is a folder.  It's a Creighton Binns and  dates from 1984.  Also fits in the garage with the Rapido and a working garden trailer!

Servicing the brakes etc should be OK 'cos they do look like Morris Minor drums (but probably French) and simple enough.  I have an original service sheet (in French) for the brake system.  For brake shoes replacements there is another link on this site with some advice for supplier.

Check site reviews or Wales or email me direct at frankbiggsataol.com.

Thanks Fidgad
You're certainly getting the use out of your garage! I'll attempt the brakes myself but would be interested in the French service sheet. I work for a French translator (handy!) so I could get her to translate it.
Looking forward to seeing a pic of your awning.

Hemulen

Picture of the awning now in my gallery pics.   Best I had on file as it was only used twice last year and one of the trips I forgot to take a camera.  Hope it helps.  If you copy it and then blow it up in Picture Editor you'll get a better idea.

Incidentally, the picture was taken at the delightful 'Charity Farm' campsite near Wigan.

Thanks very much Fidgad. I see what you mean about the side doors being well situated.
We haven't got an awning yet, but then, the snow has only just cleared!
Here's to a bit of springtime for half term!
