I agree with Art B, it is a sign of the times. I think that older units probably were better built even if they don't have so many features. IMO manufacturers of tin tents and folding campers are havng to build to a budget because of competion. Consider the number of manufacturers that have gone out of business in the last year despite the fact that sales should be good!
I was not impressed by the standard of low voltage wiring on our outfit but was shocked at the cost when I improved it even though I bought the materials from wholesaler.
We also suffered from broken nylon seat hinges after only 3 seasons use. Because I could see that it would be a regular problem I replaced them with continuous hinge which costs very little more.
having had a little moan, we are very please with the concept and use of our camper.
