We belong to both and have had no problem with our folding camper on any site. C& CC are cheaper in low season for older people like us, but we tend to prefer the CC 5 van sites for peace and quiet. Join both and you have a greater choice of sites in a particular area.
We have an ancient folding camper, and although we are members of the C&CC I am thinking of joining the Caravan Club as well. Especially, if as has been said, their sites are all child friendly.
Not all the sites for either the CC or the CC&C are child friendly, but most are perfectly willing to tell you if you ask them!
Personally I prefer the CC&C, but I think there has been a real quiet revolution in the CC over the last few years; I think that it has been spoiled in the past by a few snooty types who look down on mere TTs and FCs, but nobody I have met in the past 3-4 years from either club could care less what unit we had so long as we and everybody else there enjoyed ourselves.
WOW what a thread Just to add my own experiance of both clubs. When my children where young a few years ago i had a new Conway TT joined the CC and booked in to the Broardlands site in Norfolk. Only when we arived on site where we met with a distinct second class citizen attitude of OH ITS ONE OF THOSE! im not sure you can stay! After myself kicking up a bit of a fuss stating the fact upon joining the club it didnt state you had only to have a caravan. The following year i joined the frendly club and have found this abounds no mater the weather or the time, now in my 14th year. My advice is try for yourself but its an expensive experiment one I wish I hadent experianced
