Your Plate tells me it is a an Esterel Supermatic C46. The 46 is the body lengh 460cm. Get yourself underneath and look at the plate on axel. That will give you the date. As for the electrical component, well at first sight it looks like an old buzzer. The round bit looks like a coil. It could even be a relay (electric switch). What its function is I havnt the slightest. Shame I am over here as I would be able to tell you after a short inspection, and get your lights working.

Over here in the UK we have to have a bleeper on the indicators (in Car) which bleeps when the trailer is plugged in.

Hi Andi,

The plate on ours is on the front side of the axel half way between the O/S wheel and the centre. It was covered in underseal.

when I painted mine I used Hammerite smooth white on the exterior which makes it look like new, and inside we used vinyl silk emulsion, which is great because we can change the colour whenever we want to,easy to keep clean too,I do have some pics of the 'before' and 'after' but sorry I dont have time to put the pics up as we are just off out the door to enjoy our first holiday with our new look Esterel
