Vicky we had the same trouble as you.
our drive slopes down to the road and there is allways someone parked opposite our drive ,rendering using the car??
We bought a jockey wheel type motor mover, just connect it to a bettery and away you go.
i was a bit apprehensive going downhill with it ,but as soon as you stop ,it stops it will hold the weight of a f/c no problem they are designed to be used with a heavy caravan.
but to be on the safe side , mu other half watched me down ready to put the handbrake on if need be.but there was no need .
Have a look on e-bay type in motor mover, lookfor big foot ,mr shifta ,euromover .

I had a Purpleline Enduro mover fitted to my Pennine Countryman by the dealer. I am very pleased with the mover and it gets the trailer round a tight corner, up a steepish drive and into the garage. I wouldn't want to be without it. The only problem is that the DEALER ("We fit a lot of these, sir") fitted the unit upside-down on to the chassis without using the Low Profile Chassis Adapter Plates (available from Purple line for about £30). The result was that the motor only had a ground clearance of 3.5" and being a complete and utterly naive novice I thought that this would be OK providing I was a bit careful... WRONG!! The motor casings have taken a bit of scraping(no surprise there) but fortunately, nothing has been seriously damaged. It seems it is the concave surfaces which are the real problem, i.e. dips/gullies in the road.
I have since done my homework and have discovered that it will be a simple enough job to refit the units the right way up on to the adaptor plates. It will involve drilling three holes in each chassis member and bolting the plates on . The units simply clamp on to the plates and I will have to check the cable connections to the control box. If my measurements are correct I should now havea ground clearance of about 6" and one heck of lot more peace of mind!
The camper, by the way has been to Somerset, Devizes, Southwold, Alsace, Black Forest, Austria. It has been tested by storm, tempest and 4 days of solid rain and giant slugs in Austria (I jest not) and it performed really well. It was surprisingly easy to tow but I have found it advisable to remove the jockey wheel after it unwound itself on the M25 in the rush hour(ouch). And DO get one of those towing mirrors which really helps you see the road behind. A few Quid well spent. We use our 2L Mondeo as the tow car and I can't quite see behind the trailer in the central mirror.
(We bought the Unit at the NEC last October.)
