Hum. You may want to dig out some more documentation on that MG, cause my money says that the 750kg Fiesta isn't a braked trailer.
If it has over-run brakes you will see some mechanism assosiated with the hitch to apply the brakes. If all you have is a handbrake & brakeaway cable then you have an UNbraked trailer. Which, at 750kg is a perfectly legal thing to have.
But you will find your car will have a much lower towing limit for an unbraked trailer than it will for a braked trailer. Ie whilst it can take a 1ton braked trailer, it may only be rated for 500kg unbraked.
The little technicalities that dealers don't tell you, eh?
