I suppose everbody is different and likes different units (except Dandys) but I like them all (except Dandys). I used to love my old ridge tent,Ioved my Conways and I would love a folding camper on the Countryman lines. Maybe when I'm old(er) and creakier I would even go for a caravan.(but I would remember the tent campers and not thump around in the van in the middle of the night,do they all do that?) .The only thing out of the question is a motorhome, after hearing owner of said truck complaining about the tents lowering the tone of the campsite! (C&CC site at that) OH took against them when an attractive young lady who pitched next to us,lounged around in a bikini all day. Quote"Look at that, that's terrible" in full Nora Batty mode, arms folded, mouth like a dogs bottom. Yes dear I said, terrible I said. I will just get my camara to show everyone how awful it is.

Motorhomes are great, until you need to go to the shop for that bread you forgot. Someone will nick your pitch. Caravans fine if you don't mind watching half a years salary vanish in a cloud of algae whilst in storage. I do still camp in a proper tent too, but like the beds off the ground & the ability to cook & eat indoors if the weather is grotty.

Steve.

Well,Lizzy, are you happy now? You've started Steve off and will be getting phone calls in the middle of the night from people with Sunncamps for sale! Probably the best way forward now is to flick back through the posts to get an idea about the different units or pitch a question directly to a member.

Old conways  big, good quality, not that easy

Cabanons and newer conways big,not quite as good quality, still not easy

Raclets,ask Charlie

Dandy,Ask Steve

Trigano,who knows.

Camplet, easyish but overpriced for accessories(is that spelt right?)

actually not that new, been around for a fair few years but just don't post much as a tent and 4 dogs just don't mix lol think we are going to go with a folding camper, did consider a caravan, but can't afford the car to tow it so the camper is the best of both worlds, looking for a conway crusader or a pennine pathfinder as i want the oven

We have just got rid of our Sunncamp 400se and bought a folding camper off of Ebay,we are very happy with it,The Sunncamp took quite a long time to put up with just the two of us,we bought a smaller awning to help out but it was still a pain,so i would advise you to go for a fc.

still would recommend having a day out to Caseys at Chester.    Once there thye have a range of second hand tts fully displayed, even their cheapest ones, unlike Camperlands which only half put up their second hand ones.  The staff there are really great too and will take the time to answer all your questions.   You can also visit the attached garden centre and the cafe has cakes to die for!   They have a large suncamp on display at the moment for £850   or at least they did when we visitied with family last weekend.
