You're right Alison, English car = passports+money. They certainly knew how to do it and what they wanted. I was amazed to see the contents of the car neatly by the side of the road, searched but left. But thanks for thoughts and there are some good ideas there - never thought of a safe in the car, not a bad idea - the car now has an alarm and I guess anything that makes a noise will hopefully scare them off. The trouble is you kinda want to be close to your valuables at all times so you know where they are and the thieves probably realise this. Even hiding them in the van when you're not there now just feels wrong. Like your idea of scattering your posessions around, I bought another wallet on (2nd) holiday with the idea of using this with a single card + cash and hiding the rest in a money belt. Its getting into the habit of wearing it, and there again when you're asleep where do you put it....

Paul

I like the look of the safe as well, expecially since I only have a roll over cover on my boot, and no alarm.  Hopefully an alarm and a safe would make it not worth their while.  Don't the police always say its about making things as hard as possible so they move on to easier pickings?

All the best,
Alison

XVI yes?

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Like the look of the anti jacking device but have a slight worry it wouldn't work with the folding camper . Talking to people on second holiday, one mentioned he'd been "gassed" in his caravan in France a while back, the other that his daughter disturbed a nightime intruder in caravan awning - in the UK. He fled and no sign of him but she spotted him a few days later, the site were informed and was "removed".

I think I'll be installing a small safe under one of the seats with several sensors connected to a very loud alarm. And will never kip over again.

We have a safe screwed in to the floor of one of the cupboards.

I also do not leave the rifle on the rack of the pickup but keep it loaded next to me on the bed.

Nah only joking.

It's a shotgun.

Horrible experience, glad to hear you are OK, all joking apart. It could have been a lot worse.
