Thanks all, I'm in Luton, Beds. Think Gillingham is around an hour away. I'll google and see if they have a website

Have had a look at the website but it doesn't seem to show pre owned units (except 1)

Try giving them a ring. They definitely do pre owned, they had quite a few in when we collected ours.

Hi Sharktale

What dealers are local to you?  You said in your post that none of the local dealers have any in stock yet so just wondered who you meant :)

Have you tried Tony Wild and Burcroft Camping?

When we were looking for out tt i put wanted posts on preloved and got some replies but i was looking for one with the extension and sun canopy and didn't get any replies with what i wanted :(  Though had a few replies from people trying to sell on theirs even though they weren't what i wanted lol.

Have you tried googling the names of folding campers you would consider?  I did that and though it throws up a good amount of old ads and links to ebay or other sites it does also have some other sites with for sales on which i then kept to keep checking.  Also take a look on autotrader under caravans as they sometimes have fc's on there.  It's also worth looking on other sites under caravans too :)

We eventually got the one we wanted from preloved at a fantastic price :)  We had been looking since the beginning of October and picked it up a couple of days after Xmas :o

Hi,

as stated my unit is 2003/04 blue beige.

It has awning, bedroom annexe for awning & Conway rear bike rack. Also winter cover.

Full accessories inc waste water, fresh water and leads.

Now for the truthful bits

Front locker has a crack  on the top, and the grommit is missing from one of the hinges (should be easy to replace just never got round to it). Never found signs of leakage

internally , usual signs of wear.

Specifically, edge trim has parted from the side of the sink unit. Need to glue back in and a chip to to the veneer.

Roof has a small repair the size of a 5 pence piece. Already there when purchased.

I have had it for 3 years and have all manuals and receipts.

Everything else in good working order.

All curtains etc in tact.

I absolutely adore the camper and have had fantastic time with the kids. It is extremely comfortable and surprisingly warm.

However the wife still thinks of it as camping and has dictated the requirements for a tin top. So looking at the best way to sell.

Cheers

Lawsy

eBay always has loads.  Riva Dandy in Wigan too.  Bit of a trip admittedly, but worth it for the right unit.  Preloved is usually a good place to look too.  Good hunting.

Ask the wife if SHE wants to try towing a caravan instead of the FC, with the wind catching it and blowing it around! and is she aware of the extra costs involved by way of additional fuel and storage, extra wear on tyres and clutch. FC much cheaper and safer to tow and can easily be stored at home!

Just had a better idea! keep the FC and swap the wife!

I have talked to a couple of large Caravan dealers, who don't sell new FC's, but they often get FC owners comming in wanting to part-ex against a caravan.

They have put me on there contact list, and will call me when a FC next comes along, this they told me is how they move on the trade in FC's, as they obviousley don't want the hassle of having them on display, no need of course especialy as they are probably only looking at getting the part-ex cost back, which is no doubt mostly profit in anycase.

I did get the feeling that the sales potential of a FC was of little interest to them, apart from helping them sell a new caravan to someone, this thought came into my mind as I got sight of a MotorHome that one of them had on display at £773000!, yes that's not a typo £773k.

If you are in the northwest try a trip to Manchester to

www.camperlands.co.uk/

They always have a large stock of tailer tents and folding campers.

Lawsy: Thanks for the offer but we're not in a rush as we still have our tt, hoping to get one in vgc, I know that probably means we'll have to wait a bit longer Thanks again.
