A porch awning just wouldn't give us enough space...we put the main awning up everytime we use the camper, even if just for the weekend.

We struggle with keeping the poles upright - we have the IXL poles and keep breaking the end pieces.  Every time we go to a camping shop we end up picking up more spares just in case one breaks.
