Re the food packing etc...we often unfold our fc just before we go(not setting it up properly) and pack the fridge etc as we don't have loads of room in the car, esp if we take the dog.

For us the main advantage over a caravan was storage, as we can store a fc at home, no storage fees and we know it's ok, and towing..have seen a few caravan accidents..scarey. We've holidayed with friends with caravans and they are very envious of our beds in the camper.

Disadvantages, I agree with what everyone else has said re the drying out but we have always managed...and it's not the drying out of the camper that worries me cos we can put it up on the drive, it's the awning!  Space wise, with the awning up we have plenty of space.  Having said that I still look at caravans sometimes and wonder about getting one cos there are no draughts!

Hi, I have a Pennine Sovereign which will soon be for sale. This has all of the advantages of the Pathfinder ie on board toilet, wash/changing room, hot and cold running water etc etc but only 5.45m long as opposed to 6m long and also a lot lighter. These where only made for two years so not many around and not very often spoken about due to lack of knowledge.

It is mainly 2 adults, sometimes 4 so having the two double beds would be handy for those raer occasions, either way we also need an awning as we have dogs with us who sleep in their crates with lots of blankets.

We have a drive but no garage, the caravan is currently on the drive now but we would prefer something a bit smaller in length then we could just get the car on to the drive as well as opposed to parking it on the road across the front of the drive.

Ideally finding someone who wanted to swap a pathfinder on conway cruiser in exchange for our lunar clubman would be the ideal situation but not likely to happen.

I think we'll be putting the caravan up for sale soon and then hopefully looking around for something a bit smaller in length, the other thing we like about the folding campers are we can't take as much c*** as we do with us in teh caravan that just sits in cupboards and never gets used
