I looked into this a bit when I was workign over there and came up with several of the things mentioned, to summarise
Width - 2.3m IIRC and there are limits how far it can overhang the tow vehicle, some American campers are substantially more than this
Brakes - They must be overrun brakes not electric operated ones - changing over is possible but expensive
Lights - May need to replace or add to rear, side and front lights (not a major issue IMHO)
Noseweight - as mentioned above US units tend to have much higher noseweights. Might be a problem even for a 4x4, although at the time I was also considering importing a Dodge Ram or Dakota truck!
In the end I gave up the idea! I did look briefly at the details of the Viking and almost went to look at them but I was put off by the lack of a proper toilet compartment. In the end I decided to forego the hardtop and got a 2004 Pennine Pathfinder instead.
