You will get a mid/late 90's 6 berth folding camper for that sort of budget or a early 00's 4 berth I reckon. Nothing wrong with TT's at all - just another option to consider
When we first started looking round we were looking at tt's as I didn't even know what FC's were. For us the relative ease of putting up a FC is a huige part of the attraction. If you are used to putting up large frame tents then a TT will hold no fears and they do indeed have a huge amount of internal space
I used to own a Sunncamp 400se so the the attached may help with erecting if you are a new owner and have the pole diagram:
1. Set up the cabin and fully peg it out.
2. Zip the awning to the cabin and throw it over the cabin.
3. Erect all the frame poles up to number 10 i.e. half the awning frame.
4. Pull the awning canvas over the frame poles and then throw the remaining canvas back over the frame poles leaving the lip of the canvas hanging over the end of the frame poles before connecting the remaining awning frame poles.
5. Erect the remaining awning frame poles and pull the canvas over so the whole awning frame is covered.
6. Put in the 3 little end poles and tension poles 11 on the awning frame poles.
7. Erect the kitchen frame poles and hold in place why someone secures the guy
ropes to the 2 spikes that pop through the roof.
8. Peg the front corners of the awning then fully peg the awning.
You only need pole 14 when erecting. You can remove it if you don`t want the door set as a half or full porch entrance. You should have pole 26 left over after fully erecting, which has a nylon "U" clip on one end. That pole fits in the middle of pole 8, (hole in roof lining shows where it goes). It is used if it gets too windy.
Pole 25 is the coat rail which goes on pole 8 and 17 on the left of the kitchen annex as you look at it.
I have a 240 awning and poles we bought it for our 400se for weekends. Hubby in the end made me sell TT but still got 240 awning. I have it listed in the for sale section if you're interested. It's in blue and we only used it about 5 times.

sorry for being stupid but where is the for sale section
We are selling a 2007 cabanon stratos trailer tent. It comes with 2 under bed tents, a sun canopy, storage box and a metal frame so bikes or a roof box can be carried on top. It has a sewn in ground sheet and it is very sturdy in all weathers. It fits easily into a garage which is good for storage. There is also plenty of room in the footwell for luggage or equipment. If you think you may be interested leave your email address. Thanks.

it is now 400 cabin awning and awning poles we have sold the unit as a 250
We recently bought a 400se sold as seen but on inspection we discovered the cabin canvas is rotten and irrepairable, so we are looking to buy a cabin canvas. Our awning which is mostly blue is in good condition but we would consider different colour. Would you consider selling cabin canvas only??
What year are the canvases from? ours is a 2004, also we are in scotland so would it be ok to arrange our own courier?
I will include this allan.cathcart at btinternet.com if you could email and I will edit this post later to remove address
