I often go away in the pathfinder on my own and there is no way that if I have to do a wet pack, do I want the hassle of trying to retrieve a mattress cover from underneath the mattress before I can put it where it should go.

Wet packing an FC is a hard enough exercise without making it any more difficult than it has to be and if the mattress cover is rolled up where it should be, then all the covers can be in place before you step outside.
