I always thought that there were enough chemicals in tap water, without adding anything else! I take dettol wipes with me, and if the tap looks dodgy or I've seen the sort of behaviour as above, I wipe the tap/pipe with it before use.

On a campsite recently, all the children were using the taps to drink from, I'm still wondering if they had poorly tums later. Evetually I went over and told them all off in a very loud voice, so that their parents could hear me! Underneath the taps was a great big puddle, a breeding ground for germs. That was one occasion when I used a dettol wipe!

Glad you got it sorted, Les.

Hi jax , I agree with the concept of there should be enough chemicals, but from days of old when camping with scouts I have also used a dose of something extra. I usually pull through some water on hookup as the pipes always have something left in them from the last trip as well. The aqua sol also helps to prevent stagnation of this water.

I tend to err on the side of caution especially with the kids. Not necessarily that they drink the water but more cleaning teeth etc . Last thing I want is them in a camper with a dose of deli belly !!
