3) On Site
With 12S disconnected from car, leisure battery fitted and & battery indicator switch set to van 12 v supply will be
a) Interior lights
b) Water pump
c) 12v 2pin sockets

4) On Site
With 240v hookup, leisure battery fitted and all isolators switched on 12 v power supply will be

a) Interior lights (12V)
b) Water pump (12V max 5 amps)
c) 2 pin sockets (12V)
d) 13 amp sockets (10 amp max)
e) Fridge (240V 5 amps)
f) Charger unit will charge leisure battery

Please note there is no mention of where the battery indicator switch should be so fair to assume it doesn’t matter for this configuration

Hope this helps

Mike

That all makes sense and seems to match our Pullman 535 BUT what if you accidentally set the switch to van then put fridge switch on and tow the unit???

We just did this and found the battery 100% dead on arrival!! Not happy! Yes, I know it's an odd scenario and normally we leave the fridge off but must have accidentally knocked it on when closing down last time.

Btw our manual says to tow with switch in off position.

I have requested a full wiring diagram so I can find the resultant current path in this instance.

Some time ago I made up this chart which shows what you need to set for a given desired situation:

Pennine Electrical Options by Boy at the Edge, on Flickr

In a way, you've almost got too many options available with the ability to power the camper 12v systems from the car if need be (I've made up just such an extension lead to allow this if my leisure battery ever became flat). Notice that to power the fridge when travelling it doesn't matter what the setting of the van/car switch is provided that the 'red' fridge switch is on.

Anyone who wants to see a copy of the Pennine wiring diagram for the Sargent PSU2005 powered units it is available for download
here
