Am I wrong, or is the pathfinder very much like a crusader or the quartz6?

We had 3 weeks in France this year in 35deg + and it never felt too hot inside...and we have acrylic cabin & awning...there's lots of ventilation.

The prices are ridiculous, I recon they have more a less doubled since we looked/brought one 6 years ago!

Why would you pay the same price as a new caravan? Surely they should be priced between tents and caravans?

I think that is all down to some 'suits' on the board driving the profit margins and loosing sight of the origins of their product.

As has been stated some want FC's that include all mod cons (shower/ovens etc)and some want a FC without those things BUT the price must reflect the difference. I have lusted after a new FC for ages now but £14K is way way out of my price range now.

Another camping show where I will walk away with a brochure but not bother the sales team....

Just seen a preview of the 2013 range Here.

What a terrible video presentation ... obviously not rehearsed! Bits of packing and cardboard around .... failure to get everything right first time ... side walls pre-folded onto roof, so no demo of how that folds up ... it all looks very amateur ... AND the demo for the Crusader (slightly cheaper version) is exactly the same!!! It would certainly put me off buying one ... especially at that price!

Having read the bits above, I thought I would add to the discussion !!

1. The crusader is 12k plus awning - for a caravan with permanent made up beds you would need to speed say 16k plus awning so is it really that expensive ???

2. A caravan that size would need to be stored etc thus adding to cost each year .

3. Yes the new pathfinder is over priced - unless you want external BBQ point , shower etc- I think the crusader has everything you need.

4. They should bring back a mid range sterling / Pullman for those who do not want a toilet etc.

5. Isabella are known for being expensive - how much of the cost is due to the fabric ?? Is there not another manufacturer of awnings / fabrics that could be used to make the units a bit cheaper ??

Kelper, that video is from the Quartz6 this year, it's not the 2013 model -  I've seen this from May this year that's when I discovered FC's.  Watched all the video's on youtube relating to FC.  Strange how they link an old video to a new 2013 model!!!!

Agree with many of the points that les2802 has made.

Six years ago we moved to a new Bailey Ranger 500-5 from a Pennine Sterling, we paid £10500 for the Bailey at that time I think a Pathfinder was around the £9000 point. If you look at the Bailey Orion range a 5 berth is around £15000 so I don't think Pennine's pricing has moved much.

I think Pennine are onto a loser with the Artemis, now they have junked the fixed bed layout (which was too space ineficient in such a small unit) they are in direct competition with Gobur. Given a direct choice between an Artemis and the Gobur i'd choose Gobur because they have the proven track record in this market even though the Artemis is slightly cheaper.

What i'd really like Pennine to produce is a modern version of the Conway Cardinal hard top camper, now that might tempt me to spend some cash!
