I have heard of some people that haven't got on with them, and one had 2 broken boxes.
But I can confirm they work, even the wife has noticed how smooth the car was and extra wellie.
I've turned it right down and still pulls like a train.
It's a shame to hear ferrodo that chip express was like that.
I will always agree with no doubt a remap is better, but for what I wanted the dtuk box suits me down to the ground, plus I can sell it on.

What you need to do now is a fuel consumption test I know most high end VWs have fuel computers has yours.

On my 406 it is really easy there is a button on the end of the stalk this cycles through all the options ie instant consumption, miles to fill up etc and also if you hold it in it resets any of the readings. Yesterday I did a 185 mile round trip A3 M25 M23 then A272 A31 A3 average fuel consumption was an incredible 67mpg not bad for 13 years old and 164k

That is very good, pretty sure the audi averages around the 46, which I thought would have averaged more. The French seem to have the Diesel engine down to T, probably because they invented them.my wife's old Citroen Saxo 1.5 diesel was amazing, I'm not surevwhatbit used to do with the diesel because it hardly touched it. The audi diesels ate pretty rubbish really not what i would have expected.plus they had a lot of problems with them.

Right as a mechanic I have several taxi customers that had 406s then got Passats and have said the fuel consumption was 30-35% worse and wished Peugeot had not stopped making them, later Peugeots are not as good since going 16v on there deisels.

Yeah total agree I own the b7 audi 2.0 tdi and apparently the b6 was around 10mpg better. I've heard of people complain that their 8v was miles more better than the 16v on fuel.
Audi made some pretty terrible diesels lucky I did my research and got the good one ( hopefully ) lol

Then a modern mini car like a Yaris is supposed to do 60 plus but my inlaws have a 1.6 auto that never gets above 25 around town and no better than 35 on a long run.

They probably got those results all down hill with the wind behind them lol.
I loved reading the articles before I bought the audi, all saying 50/60 mpg average! I've never ever hit those figures.
I would hate to see what audi states for the rs4 and rs6 and what it really is owning one.

Think what I will do sterling,is remove the box on Sunday and reset the average mpg. Give it a week with it off put the average on here as I will forget. Then put it back on same time for a week then compare results.

My Nissan Micra manages about 64 mpg ... the Passat is well below that!
