I thought you had electrical items PAT tested if they were a year or more old and only on a commercial basis, ie hotels, cafes etc.

Oh dear, seems I'll need to take a course in electrics to 'get it'.

I just plugged it in and it and made some toast, kept warm, boiled a kettle and had glorious light.

Many can wire a circuit and make the light work but very few can see the light.

we bought one of the ones the op posted from aldi last week so ill copy some of the info from enclosed instructions if it will help

the brand name on the cardboard box is SEMLOH electrics ltd of nottingham (unipart)but....
it is suncamp branded once you take it out of the box.

3x three pin uk sockets to ip44 with covers closed
10 amp double pole MCB to BS EN 60898-1: 2003
25 AMP rcd, TRIPPING AT 30mA connected to 20m of HO5VV-F3 cable.
240v 16 amp site plug to iec/en 60 309
maximum load capacity is 2400watts at 240v with fully uncoiled cable

also has a reverse polarity indicator neon light


also in the information it says the rcd will cut off the power in 40 milliseconds if an earth current fault is detected
