I had 3 bikes on the rear rack of my Pathfinder and it really changed the towing characteristics dramatically. I even filled the toilet with water and moved everything as far forward as I could to increase noseweight but could only manage 60Kg. When towing a 1000Kg Pathfinder with such a light noseweight, anything over 50mph was scary whereas normally its as steady as a rock with around 80Kg. Next trip I plan on putting at least one bike on the drawbar or on the car roof to try and balance it up a bit. Trial and error I'm afraid.

Before I get reminded about noseweight limits etc, I've got a 4x4, 2800Kg towing limit and 120Kg towbar rating.

Same with the Crusader, certainly in relation to the shower. Think it was 2002 onwards for the shower and pretty sure a gas point too on later models.

Brochures on Conway Owners Club is a good place to check all the difference between years, only for Conway models of course.

Ok, could you explain for the hard of understanding, please? What would an external gas and shower point be used for/with, exacrly? Remember, my camping experience so far has been in a tent!

External gas point is if you want to run your gas BBQ off it. I think the external shower point is just what it says, so you can hose down outside. Not sure what you'd connect to it though.

Re Conway/ Pennine, my view was that Pennine still exists so people feel happier spending a bit more on it than Conway. I wanted the slide out beds so specifically wanted a Conway. I also preferred the hob on the left and the sink on the right.

That makes sense! However, a gas bbq is a grill and not a real bbq, so I won't be considering that a desirable option. As for showering outside- I'd probably get booted off the campsite!

I think the initial publicity showed washing a dog with the exernal shower!! Unless they are going for the Naturist market

I have a 1999 Pathfinder. It has an external gas point but no external shower point. It has a dual fuel water heater - gas or electric.

Yes. My problem is that my 4x4 has quite a long towbar ball mounting and a large rear mounted spare wheel. So a MaxxRaxx needs to be bent around that which brings the arms pretty close to the camper. As I said my first attempt will be to try one bike on the drawbar and one on the rear rack which should cancel each other out weightwise and balance things up. If not, then its back to the drawing board.

Oh, also my youngest grandchild has just learned to ride her bike this week, looks like by summer it will be 4 bikes.

There's a shower head with hose all fitted, so basically a case of opening the locker type door, taking the head out and turning on the tap(s), well it is on the Crusader anyway.

As a Crusader - 2000 onwards - has hot water (gas or electric) as standard the shower also has hot water.
