You no don't need a jack, because in the Pennine instruction book, you can lower the jockey wheel, lower the landing legs then screw the jock wheel up.
Not tried it myself yet but it sounds like it works in principle.
also in the dvd from pennine[08] ,it says to level the unit with the use of corner steadies........
