Well, we had a fantastic week at Lincolnshire Lanes and everything on the Tardis was great!   However - a couple of questions:

I got the fridge going eventually, turned on the gas and lit the pilot.....

There is also an on/off switch in the same place for the electric - I had both gas & electric running the fridge - is that right, or could I just run it on gas ??

And.....

I found 4 long green strips of canvas, with zips down each side - the material matches the tent & awning canvas, but the zips are smaller - not the same size as the big ones in either awning or canvas - does anyone have any ideas ???

Cheers

Hi Stretch.

The fridge should not be run on gas & electric at the same time, always make sure the electric is off before igniting the gas, and vice versa.

The 4 long things are referred to as the socks by some owners. They are for protecting the roof supports from the elements when the roof is up. The narrow end goes at the top.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.

They also protect the canvas on main unit from chaffing against the roof supports in strong winds (and it looks prettier) Do be carefull not to overwind the winch when erecting as this is the most common cause of cable failure

Thanks for that - the socks bit makes sense !!!

The fridge though - I lit the gas on its own, and nothing seemed to happen - it wasn't getting cold at all - thats why I went back to it and switched on the electric, and then it seemed to get cold.

I suppose it could just be coincidence......   How long do they normally take to get cold on gas ?

Thanks again !

Our fridge takes a while to get properly cold on gas - turn it up full, then give it an hour or so and see if the metal elements inside feel cold, and if there is some warmth coming from the vents in the trailer body.  Once it gets cold, turn the control down a bit.  If it isn't getting cold after an hour, maybe the gas bit of it needs a service?
