Not a rumour Caz but grounds for divorce! I want one John says over his dead body watch this space! in 18 months it will be all his idea!!!!!!!!!!!! He doesn't seem to think it is an advantage that I could put it up with out him!
------------- Good friends are hard to find, difficult to leave and impossible to forget.
If you want to see my new one it's here - Gallery for Hollyfast meet - with the awning on! (Behind Matt's head) And don't laugh at the piccie of DebbyM & I struggling with the awning either, I think I've got it sussed how to do it next time.
------------- Caz
If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.
I've only just noticed that pic - thanks, Chris!!! lol!
I've got a folding camper now, a Dandy, and I love it - I'm sure next time I put it up it won't take so long as I think now I've sussed out how to it the right way round - and towing is a lot easier than I thought, in fact kept forgetting it was there and going over the 60 mph allowed!
The 'biggy' for me is the storage, but I can see the 'wet weather' problem.
The Dandy is made of PVC, you can put it away wet & it won't rot. The one I have just bought is over 20 years old, and not any rot/mould anywhere. So much space, too, and plenty of room for storage in the lockers.
Go for a Dandy - we've had ours ten years (a 1989 model). The teenagers sleep in tents now as its only the four berth and Dad and I love to stretch out on the beds on an evening and read, but they keep coming with us and they could still sleep in wiht us but that's not cool at their age. Little Un says when we get our next Dandy he wants the current one - he's 15 and doesn't drive yet. Says he'll put it up in the garden and live in it till he can use it himself!!
Used to have a trailer tent and thought it was really great.....sleeping off the floor, large awning area etc.Recently had the opportunity to upgrade to a folding camper and it's brilliant,it's up in a jiffy and no pegging out.The downside is it's bigger to tow than a trailer tent but I can live with that!! A caravan is okay in the fact that once you are there everything is ready (except the awning if you use one) but they are big and bulky to tow and they are soooo mod con now is it really camping??

Your right, I've just looked on the Pennine website and there is one in development, due out in 18-months.
Pennine must also own Conway.
I want one too! I'll have to start saving for one in the next 18 months!
We took to camping last year with a Vango 600 dxl? and had a fab time even if the weather was torrential for one of the weeks but it didn't put us off. I have a back complaint so have to be lowered on to the ground and back up in the morning (god forbid i need a pee in the wee small hours!!! Anyway this year we are tempted to try to get a conway trailer tent. Can anyone let me know what the step into the camper is like? I am hoping to view a second hand one on saturday.
