you could buy a nearly new raclet quick stop , escapade both folding campers,look on preloved trailer tents some bargains.

we have been camping for a while but after the bad weather last year decided to upgrade from a tent.  we looked at the various options and like you had a budget of about £2000.

We opted for a TT over an FC as we could get e newer one, which i assumed would give longer use. Also the TTs were much bigger for the price.  In the end we got a Sunncamp 350 brand new for £2000 from camperlands in manchester.

We have only used it a few times but theres loads of room in there which is great for the kids when its raining.  I know it takes longer to pitch and doesnt have the same features as an FC but so far are very happy with it and its a doddle to tow, even with a kia rio 1.3.

Hi again Dave and Lisa

I just read your thread again and noticed that you went to Barons.  Is that the one at Burtree, Darlington?  Now others may not necessarily agree with me but relatives have had some very bad experience with them.  Promise the earth to get a sale and no after sales service.  I would avoid purchasing from them if I were you.   I wrote to them once complaining about a rude sales person, and got a very billigerent reply. I don't like them as a company for that reason, and you can only speak as you find can't you?  

We still go there when up in Darlington, but only to look at whats on the market, then we go and purchase elsewhere!

Dave n Lisa. I have read through this thread very quickly as I must go and get on with some work so sorry if I am repeating what someone else has already said. Looking down the message board I saw that Highside seems to be selling up at a price you can afford. Could be worth a read.

Hi with regards the Tow bar we have just had a tow bar with twin electrics fitted to a Seat Alambra for £170, it took two hours to fit and they came to our house to fit it,  We decided not to fir our own as on the Seat there was a large plastic dummy beam at the back of the bumper that had to be removed and a metal one put in it's place for the tow bar to attatch to.  The plastic dummy was given back to us incase we decide to sell the car.
