We made this decision recently, the basis of our decision to get a tt was that the trailers are smaller and so easier to tow and more economic to tow and also the main decision (try not to laugh!) that with a fc the cooker is fixed and genreally right next to the window and canvass roof and sleeping areas - my hubby was concerned that eveerything would smell of cooked breakfast where as with a tt you are out of the sleeping area cooking and you can always move the cooking unit so as not to melt your windows!  I know!!!   It was cheaper too.  We havent used it yet or errected it yet so when i do and almost divorce over it i will probs go get a fc!! lol!

lol

yes tt's are great too though hard work to erect in comparison. Cooking in the fc is not a probem though as the windows open completly giving very good ventilation and there is a light net to keep insects out who like the smell of sausages. the position of the cooker is also in a very safe position. Good luck with the tt and have many happy holidays.

we looked at the folding campers and trailer tents at our supplier and the trailer tent was by far the biggest but also took the longest to erect we had the cash so went from a tent straight to a folding camper and don't regret it, it takes us 10mins to fold out the camper and another 30 mins to add bed skirts and awning where as a trailer tent is about an hour(so the supplier told us and depending on size) so my advise if you can afford it and get stressed easy go for a folding camper if you don't get stressed...trailer tent hope this helps you out.

cheers

We had a TT and up graded to a FC, the best thing we did.  It has everything on board  and is much easier to put up, no pegging out unless you  use the awning.  I wish we had got the FC rather than spending money on a TT and then on a FC.  I can put the FC up on my own.  Also if you are away for a weekend you don't need to bother with the awning

Have fun whatever you get.

We just got a TT and mad exited about it.  We thought you could go away for a night at a time and not bother at all about the awning.  Is the only things you'd need it for the kitchen and loo? cos we could do without both so long as had a bucket for the kids (to pee in not to put them in!) and took camping stove for breakfasts and cuppas. Am I being silly or would it work?

So long as your awning is detachable ofcourse you can. Take the loo and bung it in the under bed tent in the day and bring it in at night. Some have a suncanopy you can use instead of the awning or consider a day tent to cook in. They are light and very easy to put up.

There are models of folding campers, that do have movable kitchens and/or site the kitchen outside the main unit.  The Combicamp (child of 10 can pitch on own), Raclet quickstop spring to mind .... Note also that the Trigano folders feature as an extra a stand so that you can site the kitchen outside. Also the Commanche features movable kitchen.

In the same vein.. the Camplet also has a kitchen in the awning... a trailer tent but looks pretty damn quick to put up employing opening like a pram.
